Real Help. \nFinding help can sometimes feel more complicated than it should. Automated phone systems, chatbots, endless menu options, and being transferred from one department to another can make even simple questions difficult to answer. Many of us have experienced the frustration of needing assistance and struggling to find the right person. \nI recently visited a department store and stopped at the customer service counter to ask a question about an item. The employee kindly explained that they couldn’t help and suggested I call the company’s customer service number instead. It was a reminder of how valuable it is when you can speak directly with someone whois able to help. \nAt the Northville District Library, helping people is at the heart of everything we do. When you call during business hours, you’ll reach a real person. Our service desks are staffed by librarians who are ready to answer questions, connect you with resources, and help you navigate the many services the library offers. Our IT Assistants and Circulation Clerks are also available to assist with technology questions, borrowing materials, and much more. Connecting people with information has been the mission of libraries for centuries. While technology continues to evolve, that commitment remains unchanged. Whether you’re looking for a book, learning how to use an eBook platform, \nresearching a topic, placing an interlibrary loan request, registering for a program, or getting help with a device, we’re here for you. \nNo question is too small, and no request is unimportant. While we may not always have every answer immediately, we will do our best to help you find what you need. In fact, one patron once asked me for a picture of a yellow 1912 Ford Model T.
