Iam very reliable and have near perfect attendance at the NHS meetings so far this year and am a good listener. I look to improve NHS from the observations that I have made through attending these meetings and being a member. I am very easy to get along with and open to new thoughtsand ideas. I want to work with the members and not feel like they work for the organization or that I work for the members. I am motivated to help this organization as much as possible and strive for greatness. \nThroughout my time as a member of NHS I have come to realize a main downfall of this organization; communication. I would look to work with the president to enhance communication by sending out weekly Celly messages, not just the current monthly ones that are sent right before due dates and meetings. I would also like to send out weekly emails to enhance the members understanding of upcoming service opportunities as well as due dates and meetings that are coming up. Also as vice-president I would look to increase the use of social media networking especially in the use of Twitter. Many people don’t check Facebook daily and Facebook is becoming outdated especially in the eyes of teenagers. Twitter has grown drastically in the past few years and is used and checked much more frequently than Facebook. I would like to utilize Twitter as a tool more to help get out the message. I would also like to make being an officer of NHS more personal and would be willing to give out my cell phone number so that other members would feel more comfortable texting officers personally which may allow some members to speak their minds or give ideas. I like the idea of the small groups that were implemented and would look to carry on that idea. I also would like the officers to coordinate more and share ideas with one another as well as give the members somewhat of a say in what goes on. I believe that the officers should all be able to voice their opinions to one another and that if an issue arises that the members could vote on that issue if need be. I would like to work more in cooperation with the members so that they can understand their goals and are motivated to be a part of NHS. \nI would look coordinate students in a fundraiser to help raise toys for needy families. The toys could be donated to Toys for Tots especially during the holidays. I think this could be a very successful fundraiser because many families that have children in high school have unwanted and unused toys that are sitting somewhere forgotten like in a basement or an attic. By creating this fundraiser there would be a chance for the toys to see a second life and be used again instead of rotting away in someone’s attic. These toys would also provide smiles to many children’s faces as I could not imagine receiving nothing for a holiday such as Christmas and it is heartbreaking. Every child deserves at least something from Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny \nand they should feel happy during those holidays. These children shouldn’t be disappointed because their other friends got toys and they didn’t. I would look to receive all of the donations in a time frame of about a week and we could send home flyers and letters to the parents to involve them more. The toy drive would be similar to the food drive and the NHS students could be assigned to different teachers and would bring down the toys at the end of the week to be counted, packaged, and donated.","cbCaihvzpbdBv3Yr","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihvzpbdBv3Yr","pdf",93820,"English","# Intent Letter Content\n## Candidacy and Qualifications\n## Communication Improvement Plan\n## Social Media and Member Engagement\n## Fundraising Proposal","[{\"question\":\"Who is the letter for and what position is being sought?\",\"answer\":\"The letter is from Patrick Sexton, Junior, and he intends to run for Vice-President of the National Honor Society.\"},{\"question\":\"What improvements does Patrick propose for NHS communication?\",\"answer\":\"He proposes weekly Celly messages and weekly emails to share upcoming service opportunities, due dates, and meeting information instead of only monthly updates near deadlines.\"},{\"question\":\"What fundraiser does Patrick suggest and where would the toys go?\",\"answer\":\"He suggests coordinating students to raise toys for needy families, donating them to Toys for Tots during the holidays.
