We have renewed the sights of patients of all walks of life, from far way lands such as the USA, UK, Europe, China, Middle East, Japan, Singapore, and Indonesia.  \nFocus Point currently operates more than 185 outlets throughout Malaysia and Brunei and with the foresight of its management, Focus Point intends to extend its service offerings to include private ophthalmology and optometric treatment via Excelview.  \nPosition: Ophthalmologist  \nJob Description:  \n• Assess and examine patients in order to make a diagnosis  \n• Manage ophthalmic conditions, taking into account both the medical and psychological aspects of patient care  \n• Manage busy general outpatient/specialist clinic  \n• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes nurse and operation manager.  \n• Lead members of the team and manage resource and practice development  \n• Operate equipment such as ophthalmoscopes, slit lamps and lenses  \n• Carry out eye surgery using, for example, an operating microscope, small incision (keyhole) surgery and laser surgery  \n• Provide comprehensive cornea training  \n• Provide urgent assessment and on-call service during weekends/holiday where necessary  \n• Provide advice and reassurance to patient and family member  \n• Educate patients to help them understand their medical condition  \n• Handle legal documentation for the certification of patient as blind or partially sighted  \n• Support health promotion and disease prevention activities.  \n• Medical ophthalmologist will also have expertise in immunosuppression, neurology and cardiovascular medicine, and will manage areas such as diabetes retinal screening programmes.
