Project Template for Project Outline and References \nPlease include the following segments in your project narrative. Your project may take many forms (research paper or lit review, curriculum development, etc.), so include as much as possible that is applicable to your project. For example, a research publication Materials and Methods section would discuss the study and experimental design and analysis, whereas the same section about a project outlining a bedbug prevention and control online course might discuss how the student developed the course modules (PPT, resources, etc.) and completed a pilot run of it. \nProject Narrative Elements: \nTitle Page \nAuthor: Include full name. \nTitle: Should be as short as possible. Only include common names that are listed in the ESA Common Names of Insects & Related Organisms. Do not include authors of scientific names. Insert “([Order]: [Family])” immediately after the name of the organism. \nAbstract \na. 250 words or less. \nb. Give scientific name and authority at first mention of each organism. \nc. Do not cite references, figures, tables, probability levels, or results. \nd. Refer to results only in the general sense. \nBody \nIntroduction \nClearly state the basis of your study or project along with background information and a statement of purpose. \nMaterials and Methods \nInclude a clear and concise description of the study or project design, experiment, materials, and method of statistical analysis. \nResults or outcomes \nClearly present the results or outcomes (if applicable, such as curriculum development) . Do not include interpretation of results or interpretation of statistical analysis—simply present the results of the experiment and the results of the statistical analysis. Data listed in tables should not be listed in the results; instead, refer to the table. \nDiscussion \nInterpret and discuss results or outcomes ofthe study or project and their implications. Include suggestions for direction of future studies, if appropriate. \nAcknowledgments \nPlace the acknowledgments after the text. Organize acknowledgments in paragraph form in the following order: persons, groups, granting institutions, grant numbers. \nReferences \nPlease use the ESA style for your citations and references. Below you will find a template and examples for both in-text citations and the end of document reference list. \nReference list \nPlace this part in your bibliography or reference list at the end of your assignment. \nTemplate: \nAuthor Surname, Author Initial. Year Published. Title. ([http://Website-Url](http://Website-Url)). \nExample: \nBauer, E. 2016. The Purple Insects of Mars, 4th ed. Academic Press, Boston, Mass. \n(see further examples below under “Sample reference styles ”) \nIn-text citation \nPlace this part right after the quote or reference to the source in your assignment. \n1. One Author Template \n(Author Surname Year Published) \nExample \n“…raised area representing Martian insect habitat”(Bauer 2016) . \n2. Two Authors Template \n(First Author Surname Second Author Surname Year Published) \nTwo Authors Example \nOur results show that Martian red dirt camouflages the purple beetles (Bauer and Weissling 2017) . \n3. Three or More Authors Template \n(First Author Surname et al. Year Published) \nThree or More Authors Example \nDigging a foot under the Martian soil unearths the purple larvae (Wright et al. 2017) . \nSample reference styles \nJournal Articles \nEvans, M.
