OF MILITARY AFFAIRS \n76 | LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES \n78 | ECONOMIC IMPACT \n-2- \nDear fellow Minnesotans, \nThe Minnesota National Guard is ‘Forged in the North’ with nearly 13,000 Citizen-Soldiers and Airmen proudly serving our state and nation. This year’s annual report highlights the future faces ofthe force-the new and emerging members across our formations whose commitment ensures the long-term strength of our organization. Their resilience and determination reflect the values Minnesotans expect from their National Guard. \nOur people are the cornerstone of our success. Investment in Soldiers, Airmen, and civilian employees is essential for tackling the challenges our state and nation face. The 14th annual Military Appreciation Day at the State Fair, the 22nd annual Armed Forces Appreciation Day with the Minnesota Twins, and the hundreds of other joint community events enhanced the strong and ever-growing connections we have with the communities we serve. \nThis year, our international partnerships continued to deepen. Numerous training events and key leader engagements occurred with our State Partnership nations, Croatia and Norway, allowing our teams to learn from each other, generate readiness, and celebrate each other’s culture. \nIn Minnesota we proved once again we are ‘Always Ready, Always There.’ Our Army aviators helped with wildfire relief, and our cyber team was called upon for the first time to support civil authorities during a large-scale cyberattack. \nModernization remained a priority as we advanced equipment, facilities, and training. Units began fielding new vehicles and weapons systems. Infrastructure improvements continued statewide, including new and upgraded readiness centers and enhancements to facilities at Camp Ripley. The 133rd Airlift Wing also progressed in its transition to the C-130J Super Hercules, with crucial developments in hangar funding. \n2026 will see some of our forces return home from deployments, and others embark on them, with all members sharpening their skills as Soldiers and Airmen. As we invest in our future, we do so with a clear purpose: to maintain a force that is prepared for any challenges that may lie ahead. Our modernization efforts support it, our partnerships sharpen it, and our people embody it-and together, they keep your Minnesota National Guard ‘Always Ready, Always There.’ \nShawn P.
