Any hours beyond the budgeted work schedule will require awarded grant funding and/or awarded donor funding specific to this position.  \nJOB DESCRIPTION – ASSISTANT GARDENER  \nGarden Care/Maintenance  \n􀁸 Weeds, rakes, mulches, and composts.  \n􀁸 Operates vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, snow blowers, electric clippers, and pruning saws.  \n􀁸 Use of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers or axes.  \n􀁸 Assists with shrub and plant removal.  \n􀁸 Helps install supports for trees.  \n􀁸 Hauls or spreads topsoil, straw, hog fuel to garden areas as directed.  \n􀁸 Cares for established lawn areas by mulching, aerating, weeding, removing thatch, trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.  \n􀁸 Snow shoveling from walks, driveways, parking lots.  \n􀁸 Helps plant bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection.
