The technician meets, maintains and supports the standards of a Medication Technician care and practice in order to meet the healthcare needs of assigned clients  \nEssential Duties & Responsibilities  \n• Prepares and dispenses medications to residents in an accurate , timely manner.  \n• Accurately documents all medications administered on MAR.  \n• Performs medication check-off with incoming shift nurse or medication administrator. 4. Reports any discrepancies in MAR and/or medication check-off.  \n• Responds to emergency situations.  \n• Communicates with physicians and dentists as to client needs and follow-up.  \n• Assists nursing staff with the preparation of various feeding equipment and formulas prescribed for individual clients.  \n• Assists Director of Nursing and Nutritionist with regular weighing, monthly and measuring height, quarterly for all clients.  \n• Assists nursing department with the compilation of requisition forms, inventories, ordering, checking and storing all medical supplies.  \n• Completes resident monthly summaries on rotating basis as assigned.  \n• Performs other duties as necessary or as assigned by nurse or supervisor.  \nWork Environment This job operates in a setting where healthcare takes place. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the home/facility. This role also routinely comes into contact with residents who may have contagious illnesses.  \nPhysical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
