At their heart issomething simple and life-giving: love God and love one another. \nThat rhythm of love shapes who weare. Itis the way God calls ustolive differently, grounded in relationship rather than obligation. As we enter the season of Lent, that callcomes into sharper focus. We ask again, what does the Lord require? The prophet Micahanswers with words that still ring true: todo justice, to love kindness, and to walk humblywith our God. \nFor Christians, love of God takes flesh and form in worship. When we gather, we come before the living God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who calls us by name and meets us with grace. Worship isnot an optional extra inthe Christian life. Itis where our relationship with God is renewed, shaped, and sustained. \nOur culture constantly pulls us in other directions. Schedules are full. Weekends are crowded. Fatigue sets in.Slowly and quietly, worship can slip down the list of priorities. Lent invites us to notice that drift and tore-centerour lives in Christ. \nWhen we gather for worship, God is actively at work. We hearthe Word proclaimed. We pray and sing together. We offer our gifts. And God gives back—strength forthe journey, forgiveness, hope, and new life. Above all,Christ himself comes tous, present in the bread andthe wine, feeding us with his own life. \nThat is why worship matters so deeply. When wearein God’s sanctuary, this isthe most important thing wearedoing. Other tasks can wait. Conversations can happen before or after. In worship, weare invited tobe fullypresent with the God whois fully present for us. \nSo, I encourage you this Lent: do not neglect worship. Do not be distracted. Come. Be here. Let Christ meet you, shape you, and send you out renewed in faith, hope, and love. \n# Committing to Worship\n\nWe are encouraging eachother all year long to commit/recommit to deeper engagement in worship. Perhapsyou’ve drifted away from regular worship attendance. Comeback and let God feed you in the Word and atthetable of Holy Communion. Maybe while you’re here, you might be called to participate more fully in theliturgies we speak and sing together. Commit yourself/yourselves to deeper engagement in worship. The moreyou engage God in worship, the deeper your relationship with Him grows. \nMarch 2026 Connecting, Growing, Serving The Epistle, page 1 \n# A Call to Prayer\n\nWe area few weeks into the season of Lent now, and oneof the traditional disciplines ofLent, along with Fasting and Almsgiving, is Prayer. Of course, anytime isa goodtime forprayer, but Lent invites us all to return to this central practice of our faith. Lent invites usinto a prayer life that will deepen our connection with God, and to God’s world. \nIn the letter to the church at Ephesus, the Apostle Paul encourages, “Pray in the Spirit atall times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere inprayer for all the saints.” (Ephesians 6:18) \nWe may wonder what it means topray “at all times,” orifthatiseven possible. Ratherthan 24/7 vocal prayer, maybe we can think of prayer asmoreofan ongoing awareness of God’s presence (“keepalert”). Anda readiness to speak to, and hear from, God. (“always persevere in prayer…) \nIn this sense prayer can look, sound, and be experienced ina wide variety of ways! Prayer doesn’thaveto bewith your eyes closed, hands folded, and head bowed down. Infact, you may find it meaningful topray withyour eyes wide open, hands uplifted, and head looking all around! \nI know people who like topray as they knit. As they color. As they ride their bike or take a walk. How might youexperiment with different ways of praying this season? \nI recently repurposed a small box asa prayer box.","cbCaivQedZcbqqZj","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaivQedZcbqqZj","pdf",2223101,"English","# Following Jesus in Worship\n## Committing to Worship\n# A Call to Prayer\n# Pastor Maren Goes on a Bear Hunt\n# Please join us for Holy Week Worship Services","[{\"question\":\"What is the central theme of Lent described in this Epistle?\",\"answer\":\"Lent is presented as a time to notice drift and re-center life in Christ, returning to love God and love one another through worship and prayer.\"},{\"question\":\"Why does the Epistle emphasize worship as essential for Christians?\",\"answer\":\"Worship is described as where relationship with God is renewed and sustained, where the Word is proclaimed, gifts are offered, and Christ is present in bread and wine.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the Epistle suggest practicing prayer during Lent?\",\"answer\":\"It encourages returning to prayer as a core discipline and interpreting “at all times” as ongoing awareness of God’s presence, with room for many forms beyond closed eyes and folded hands.\"}]","March 2026 Epistle - Following Jesus in Worship | PDF",1789511616]
