You will be at the forefront of improving our internal standards, increasing first-time fix rates, and reducing the need for external contractors by proactively addressing issues and maintaining the building to a high standard. You will, where appropriate, co-ordinate and oversee volunteer workers to support hostel repairing and maintenance operations and provide a first-class approach to improve hostel standards.  \nWhat will you deliver  \n1. First-class maintenance service to your designated hostel.  \n􀁸 You’ll work with your Regional Building Surveyor (RBS) to agree and implement a scheduled improvement plan (weekly, monthly seasonal and annually), with particular focus on bedroom standards, and the Customer Journey  \n􀁸 You’ll undertake a broad range of repair and maintenance works as directed by your RBS and requested by Hostel Managers, which may include: -  \n􀂃 Painting and decorating to the agreed standards and specification.  \n􀂃 Joinery.  \n􀂃 Plumbing, e.g. unblocking toilets, washbasins, showers & minor repairs/replacement etc.  \n􀂃 Maintenance of bathroom fittings, e.g. sealant repair, re-grouting etc.  \n􀂃 Changing light bulbs.  \no You’ll proactively identify maintenance issues before they impact guests and resolve them efficiently to a high standard.  \no You’ll take full ownership of the hostel's presentation and functionality, ensuring all areas meet internal quality and safety standards.  \no You’ll reduce reliance on external contractors by handling minor works in-house where appropriate.  \n􀁸 You’ll detect and diagnose first-line building faults and failures, actioning repairs, using Access Maintain, our computer-aided facilities management tool, enabling the management of emergency, planned and reactive maintenance.  \n􀁸 You’ll monitor stock levels of common spare items, e.g. light bulbs, fuel etc, replenishing as required.  \n􀁸 You’ll monitor heating plant and equipment to ensure it is operating efficiently and effectively and arrange for qualified contractor support to progress any repairs required.  \n􀁸 Alongside the designated RBS and National Health & Safety Manager you will help manage and oversee third-party contractors and service providers for larger repair or upgrade projects ensuring jobs are completed to a satisfactory standard while providing clear direction and support to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
