The Logistics Specialist also supports mid-week programming by completing set up and tear down for church events.  \nHere are the major areas you’d be contributing to on a Sunday morning:  \n● Be the “go to” person for all Sunday logistical needs.  \n● Open and close the church building each Sunday.  \n● Ensure the sanctuary/lobby are set up correctly and work with volunteers to reset in between services.  \n● Communicate with team leads, including AV, Welcome, Kids ministry, Safety, and Coffee to ensure a successful Sunday service.  \n● Oversee volunteer setup and tear down teams and train new logistics volunteers.  \n● Complete pre-service, during service, and post-service tasks as outlined in the Logistics Specialist Sunday Checklist.  \n● Complete additional logistics tasks on special Sundays.  \nHere are the major areas you’d be contributing to mid-week:  \n● Work with the Logistics & Volunteer Coordinator to determine which events require set up/tear down each week.  \n● Communicate with ministry leaders to determine the correct room set up for their events.  \n● Complete the correct room set ups for mid-week scheduled church events.  \n● Program the thermostats once a week based on upcoming events on the church calendar.  \nIdeally, we’d like one person to do both Sunday logistics and mid-week set up but they can be separated into two positions. If you are only interested in one of these, still apply.  \nQualifications  \nCompetency. We are assuming you have some serious organizational skills. To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following:  \n● You have to be able to solve problems and come up with creative solutions. Things often don’t go according to plan, but you have to be flexible and make sure they work anyways.  \n● Be a good verbal and written communicator.  \n● Be proactive and reliable. We will count on you to show up every Sunday and give proper notice if you’re unavailable. Mid-week, we will rely on you to handle setup and tear down so our spaces are ready for the next group using them.  \n● You have to enjoy organizing things in spaces. We have a lot to fit in the storage room and sometimes it takes a good packer to get everything in its place.  \n● You have to be flexible since church events can be different each week. Some events repeat weekly while others are once a month and some are one-offs.  \n● Be physically able to move and set up folding tables, lift signs weighing up to 25 lbs. , walk up and down stairs, and (un)stack chairs.  \nCharacter. We need a trustworthy, reliable, sensible, easy-to-work-with, and generally nice person.  \nCulture. You have to “fit” with our team & show an appreciation for the culture of New Story.
