We recommend that the following people stay home: \n1. All patients who meet the CDC criteria for high risk (see attached)* should work from home until state and local “Stay home, stay healthy” orders are lifted and/or their medical provider says they may return to work or school. \n2. All patients with fever, cough, or other cold or flu-like symptoms. Patients who have had flu-like symptoms (such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, diarrhea, fatigue, headache) or loss of sense of smell or taste, regardless of whether they have been tested for COVID-19, and regardless of whether a COVID-19 test result was positive or negative, should stay at home until they have had NO FEVER for at least 72 hours (that is three full days of no fever without the use medicine that reduces fevers), AND other symptoms have improved, AND at least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared. They do not need to be seen by a doctor and do not need any lab testing. \n3. Patients who have no symptoms but have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID19 . This patient should be in “self-isolation” at home for 14 days and monitor for fever, cough and other cold or flu-like symptoms. They may return to work or school after the self-isolation period as long as they remain symptoms free. They do not need to be seen by a doctor and do not need any lab testing. \nThank you for your understanding in this time of concern in our community. \nSincerely, \nCarolyn Halley, MD \nMedical Director HealthPoint \n[www.healthpointchc.org](www.healthpointchc.org) \n*[https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/people-at-higher-risk.html](https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/people-at-higher-risk.html)","cbCait1LV1aCJ1RG","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCait1LV1aCJ1RG","pdf",791601,"English","# Return-to-work and school clearance guidance\n## High-risk patients\n## Symptomatic patients\n## Close-contact patients","[{\"question\":\"Why does the sender decline to see patients for COVID-19 clearance letters?\",\"answer\":\"To protect public health and adhere to social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.\"},{\"question\":\"When can a symptomatic patient return to work or school?\",\"answer\":\"After being fever-free for at least 72 hours, with other symptoms improved, and at least 10 days having passed since symptoms first appeared.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the recommended action for patients who have had close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19?\",\"answer\":\"Self-isolate at home for 14 days, monitor for symptoms, and return after the self-isolation period as long as they remain symptom-free.\"}]","Letter - Return to work school letterhead - 5-14-20 | PDF",1789502544]
