Reno, Stipulated Settlement Agreement, No. 85-4544-RJK (Px) (C.D. Cal., Jan. 17, 1997), Section 462 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, and Section 235 of the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008. ORR has authority under the law to transfer custody of a UAC to a sponsor. Your child has been classified as a UAC pursuant to the Homeland Security Act of 2002 §462(g)(2) . ORR strongly encourages parents and legal guardians to designate a sponsor for their child.
