Graduation from an accredited high school or trade school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.  \n2. Five (5) years journeyman experience in the roofing trade. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.  \n3. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License  \nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  \nKnowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and materials of the roofing trade. Knowledge of the safe use and erection of scaffolding and ladders. Knowledge of roof conditions in various stages of deterioration. Ability to diagnose roofing problems. Knowledge of all forms of roofing systems, upkeep, and repair. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade. Skilled in the use and care of standard tools and equipment used in the roofing trade, as well as those used in preparation work. Ability to survey and report conditions of roofsand describe remedial action required. Ability to plan and prioritize work, and to assign, layout, supervise, and review work done by skilled and semi-skilled assistants. Ability to estimate time and materials for jobs. Ability to keep accurate records. Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, the direction, needs, and abilities of the painting trade within the District.
