We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and experienced individual to join our newly established UK Legal programme within Safe Passage International (SPI).  \nYou will be joining Safe Passage at a particularly exciting time, contributing to the development of the new UK legal strategy that ensures SPI defends the rights of asylum-seeking children in Europe with family links in the UK in the context of a Brexit outcome that may re-write the legal and policy landscape.  \nThe post holder will carry out legal casework and be at the heart of Safe Passage’s ground-breaking work to open and strengthen safe and legal routes for those seeking sanctuary. The post holder will partner with legal colleagues in our other European offices to ensure swift and effective transfers of unaccompanied children to the UK for the purpose of family reunion and work to open and defend new legal routes for child refugees. They will deliver a combination of general advice to families and other legal practitioners, as well as maintaining their own caseload of direct representation cases.  \nKey responsibilities  \n1. Carry out legal casework:  \n• Respond to case enquiries, deliver general legal advice by phone, and determine next steps for cases eligible for Safe Passage support;  \n• Identify and progress cases in collaboration with legal colleagues in SP’s other country offices (France and Greece);  \n• Deliver legal advice to external practitioners working in Europe on UK bound cases under the Dublin III Regulation;  \n• Provide high quality advice and representation for clients in pre-litigation stages of their family reunion cases under the Dublin III Regulation;  \n• Ensure swift referrals to legal aid solicitors to whom SP refers cases to when they reach pre-action stage, and support litigation when appropriate;  \n2.
