We accept both sizes but prefer the 5in which can be harder for Mom to wear and great for small preemies.\nNOTES:\nBonding hearts are used in the NICU as a way for mothers and babies to bond. A lot of the care of the baby is dictated by the NICU team. The bonding hearts are a unique way for the mother to provide comfort for her baby. Especially these NICU babies who often can’t be held very often or even at times not stable enough to be held. Mothers wear the bonding hearts for a period of time and then place them in the bed so that the baby smells their mother and is comforted by the scent. (This is also a way to aid in lactation for mothers for are pumping).
