We are dedicated to helping students who are blind in Kansas succeed in school and beyond. We see ourselves as a “network of services” that includes regional field services and a vibrant campus that offers intensive, short-term services for students. We are proud of our school, our staff, our history, and our students.\nFor parents and students who will attend our campus school this year (or might in the future), this handbook will give you a better idea of what our school programs are about and how our school operates. Our school prides itself on offering students and their families a nurturing environment which challenges all of our children to build competencies in both academics and functional skills (known as the Expanded Core Curriculum). This handbook includes information about the school, its varied programs and services, as well as the policies and rules of which students and parents should be aware.
