Also, the Pocket Circ needs to be setup (see page 14).  \nHow to Start Scanning Barcodes  \nTurn the Pocket Circ scanner on with the red button at the top left or pull the scanning trigger.  \nIf the Pocket Circ shows the Inventory screen then you are ready to start scanning. The picture to the right is the inventory screen.  \nWhen the first barcode is scanned the Pocket Circ may indicate that it is not connected to the wireless. Select Retry. The inventory screen should appear. If the inventory screen does not appear then the Pocket Circ will need to be logged in.  \nPocket Circ Log-in  \nClick on the Windows icon in the lower left (or Application in the lower Task Bar if it is there)  \nChoose Programs> Pocket Circ> Choose Login  \nIn the User ID field use the drop down arrow  \nScroll down until you see the log-in for your library Example: WOODLAWNCIRC  \nIn the PIN field type in the word “circ” (this can be accomplished two ways)  \nTo use the touch screen keyboard, choose the icon in the lower right that looks like a red pen.  \n􀁸 Choose Keyboard, it will appear  \n􀁸 Place your cursor in the PIN field before typing  \n􀁸 Spell “circ”with the keyboard, it will display as ****  \n􀁸 Close the keyboard by choosing the icon in the lower right that looks like a keyboard and choose Hide Input Panel.  \n􀁸 Choose OK (it will connect automatically)  \nOR  \nTo use the numbered keys at the bottom  \n􀁸 Push the blue AZ button on the lower of the Pocket Circ (circled in yellow)  \n􀁸 A black and white arrow will appear at the bottom of the screen  \n􀁸 Use the numbers with the corresponding letters to type in “circ” (just like texting)  \n􀁸 Choose OK (it will connect automatically)  \nIn the Items Tab choose Inventory Now you can start scanning 􀀭  \n1  \nThings to Remember When Scanning  \n-Listen for the alert sound to indicate a pop-up window. Pull the item from the shelf or follow the procedure of your library for alert items.
