Let’s take a look at some Rollbase basics. \nWhen you evaluate or purchase Rollbase, you log into a tenant—an environment you can share with other developers and with end-users. \nThe foundation of a Rollbase app includes objects, fields and relationships. Objects, similar to database tables, are containers for storing data. If you’ve worked with databases or data models, you’ll find these concepts very familiar. You can create an application foundation by defining objects yourself or by importing from existing apps or databases. Rollbase allows you to build, test, and deploy apps for desktop and mobile devices in one integrated environment. \nThis example library application includes a list of book titles. \nThe app was created by Adam Ministrator for librarians to use on a desktop. With simple configuration, it displays nicely on a phone. Let’s take a closer look at the app and see how easy it was to build. \nAdam started by defining an application foundation with the Quick Create wizard. From that foundation, Rollbase generated application pages for creating, viewing, updating, and deleting records. \nEverything you see on this page is built in. Adam didn’t write one line of code to implement functionality for creating records, importing and exporting data, merging and converting records, mass updates, filtering and sorting, and searching records and metadata. \nNext, Adam used Rollbase components to add business logic for managing check outs. \nWhen a librarian creates a new Check Out record, the New Check Out page opens. It contains a lookup field for Titles because they are related objects. Adam filtered this view of title records so that the librarian can only choose titles that have not already been checked out. \nI’ll choose a user and save the record. \nAdam used Rollbase triggers to insert the date borrowed and calculate the date due. You can see the values that Rollbase inserted in this new record. \nAnother trigger changes the status ofa title from Available to Checked Out when someone borrows a book. \nThis slide shows the trivial code that Adam used in the triggers to set the dates and change title status. He appreciated how quickly he could add logic with without heavy coding. \nAfter Adam had basic functionality working, he used Live Preview mode to see how the pages render indifferent devices. He created a custom card template to simplify the display on mobile devices. \nThis short example barely scratched the surface of what you can do with Rollbase. You can build apps in days instead of months, deploy on hosted, private, or hybrid cloud, integrate data from legacy systems, and design in one environment for both desktop and mobile users. This ends our quick look at Rollbase. Checkout our how-to videos and try the Quick Start Tutorial to see how easy it is to turn ideas into reality with Rollbase.","cbCaivtZGVLGu4xm","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaivtZGVLGu4xm","pdf",83539,"English","# Rollbase Basics\n## Tenant and Application Foundation\n## Objects, Fields, and Relationships\n## Building an Example Library App\n## Creating Pages with Quick Create\n## Business Logic with Components and Triggers\n## Live Preview and Mobile Template\n## Benefits and Next Steps","[{\"question\":\"What is a tenant in Rollbase?\",\"answer\":\"When you evaluate or purchase Rollbase, you log into a tenant, which is an environment you can share with other developers and end-users.\"},{\"question\":\"What makes up the foundation of a Rollbase app?\",\"answer\":\"A Rollbase app foundation includes objects, fields, and relationships.
