It is often bundled with other Microsoft Office software, so it can be found inside the “Microsoft Office” folder under “all programs”.  \nTo Create a New Document:  \nWhen Publisher is opened, you should go directly to the popular publication type page. Publisher provides two ways for creating a new publication:  \n1. Blank publication  \n2. Publication from a design  \nComposing and designing publications from scratch is a difficult process for many people, especially when first learning the program. Publisher provides design templates to assist in publication preparation. Simply select the type of publication you are creating (brochure, business cards, calendars, etc. ) .  \n1  \nProject 1: Create a Greeting/Holiday Card  \nCreate a card from hundreds of predesigned options.  \n1. Select Greeting Cards in the Getting Started window. Notice the designs are arranged by category.  \n2. Choose the Holiday category and look at the many options you have. Click once on the Christmas 13 card for class.  \n3. On the right side of the page is options to “Customize”  \n4. Color Scheme allows you to change the color of the imageson the card (note: when you change this it will change all the other card template colors as well) . To change the color click the drop-down menu and pick the color scheme you like.  \n5. Font scheme allows you to preset the default fonts in the card you are creating.  \n6. You have the option to import Business information if you’d like.  \n7. You can also choose the Page size and Layout. Quarter-size page (4 .25” X 5 .5” size) and the half page (8 .5” X 5 .5” size) are the most common for a greeting card.  \n8. When you are ready click Create on the bottom right of the page.  \n9. It’s a good idea to save your document now, just in case you make changes.  \nIf you change your mind on the template, fold, and size later, in the Task Pane on the left, notice that there is a Change Template and Change Page Size…button. From the window that appears, pick the one you want.  \nGetting familiar with Publisher:  \nNow you can start editing your card. Before we do this, it’s a good idea to get familiar with publisher in general.  \nPublisher toolbars:  \nYou’ll see numerous toolbars on this page:  \nMenu Bar-contains all the tools for use with Publisher 2007.  \nStandard Toolbar-contains shortcuts for actions and tools.  \nPublisher Tasks toolbar-displays the Publisher Tasks task pane (since you are on a card, it will be related to that document. To the right is a picture of what you will see if you open a Blank Document. )  \nObjects Toolbar-contains tools for working with objects.  \nConnect Text Boxes toolbar-contains text box tools.  \nFormatting toolbar-contains shortcuts for formatting tools.  \nSpecify a magnification  \nYou can use the Zoom feature to control the magnification of your publication.
