It currently has approximately 4,600 students, 12 of which are international students. HCC and the rest ofthe schools in the Hawai’i system have a goal to increase their international student enrollment. This plan was designed by a team of five graduate students atthe Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey as part of their International Education Marketing and Recruiting Course. By implementing the following strategies, HCC will see significant increases in international student enrollment. This plan requires the buy-in of both the administration and the admissions team in order to be implemented effectively. \nOverview of Marketing and Recruiting Goal \nThe goal of this plan is to increase the number of visa holding international students at HCC from 12 (current) to 22 in the first 15 months, and to reach a total enrollment of 50 by the year 2020. This goal can be achieved as HCC implements the strategies and recommendations which are laid out in this marketing and recruiting plan. \nOutline of Strategic Initiatives and Tactics \nStrategic Initiative 1 : Target Japanese Students \nBased on our research (see Appendix B), the leading place of origin for foreign students in Hawaii is Japan (26.7%, 1,146 students) . The Japanese population in the state of Hawaii also ranks the highest (16.7%) among Asian countries in Hawaii. Taking these numbers into consideration, along with the fact that HCC already has a partnership with two schools in Japan (Okinawa Women’s Junior College and University of Niigata), we strongly recommend that HCC focus its attention on this target market. \nBecause HCC offers a variety of technical and vocational programs, we believe that the best option for HCC would be to focus its efforts on targeting students already studying at technical/vocational schools and junior colleges in Japan, wish to go abroad to improve their English, and gain international working experience. HCC offers these students an opportunity to practice their English, to improve their professional skills at an affordable cost, and to gain international experience. Research also shows that employers are increasingly seeking to employ workers that have international experience. Therefore, a program at HCC would make students more marketable to these employers. \nWe will then further segment by targeting vocational/technical schools that are located in the three largest cities in Japan: Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka. Since the cost of living in cities is generally higher (Tokyo and Osaka rank in the 10 most expensive cities in the world), this will ensure that we are targeting students with the ability to finance an education in the U.S. Further information on the overall ta","cbCaijkLNJ8YtqtM","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaijkLNJ8YtqtM","pdf",1920243,47,"English","# Introduction of Honolulu Community College and Project 2\n# Overview of Marketing and Recruiting Goal 2\n# Outline of Strategic Initiatives and Tactics 3\n## Strategic Initiative 1: Target Japanese Students 4\n## Strategic Initiative 2: Decrease Barriers To Apply 6\n## Strategic Initiative 3: Provide International Student Support Services 8\n# Future Recommendations 10\n# Conclusion 10\n# Appendix A: Promotion Plan 11\n# Appendix B: Segmentation and Targeting 18\n# Appendix C: SWOT & TOWS-Strategy Recommendations 21\n# Appendix D: Competitor Analysis 24\n# Appendix E: Pricing Strategy 29\n# Appendix F: Lead Flow Plan 35\n# Appendix G: Value Proposition 45\n# Appendix H: Post Student-Inquiry Email Template 46","[{\"question\":\"What enrollment growth targets does the plan set for HCC?\",\"answer\":\"The plan targets increasing visa-holding international students from 12 to 22 in the first 15 months and reaching total enrollment of 50 by 2020.\"},{\"question\":\"Why does the plan recommend targeting Japanese students?\",\"answer\":\"Research cited in the plan identifies Japan as the leading origin country for foreign students in Hawaii, and HCC already has partnerships with schools in Japan, supporting stronger market focus.\"},{\"question\":\"What are the main strategic initiatives besides targeting Japanese students?\",\"answer\":\"The plan includes decreasing barriers to apply and providing international student support services to improve conversion and student outcomes after inquiry.\"}]","International Student Marketing and Recruiting Plan - Marketing Recruiting Strategies | PDF",1789846102]
