The data included in this book reflect the broad scope of the IRS’s work and its importance to the nation in providing the funds that support the federal government’s ability to perform its vital functions.  \nFor the IRS, FY 2025 was a pivotal year, as we began the process of implementing tax relief for working families enacted as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill signed into law by President Trump on July 4, 2025. This relief includes no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on car loan interest, an enhanced deduction for seniors, and permanent extension of several important existing tax provisions that were due to expire.
