GENERAL PURPOSE  \n• Provide continuity of care to medical oncology patients, while practicing within the professional boundaries established by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing  \nEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE  \n• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing  \n• Hold a current and valid state of Arkansas nursing license  \n• Hold a current and valid BLS/ACLS certification  \n• ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy certification required within 6 months of hire  \n• Oncology Certified Nurse (ONC) preferred  \n• Extensive knowledge of chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy  \n• Possess a combination of nursing skills, endurance, alertness, and knowledge in patient care  \n• Proficient computer, problem solving and organizational skills  \n• Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment; ability to work in a team environment and give attention to detail  \nII. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  \n• Administer patient infusion services to oncology, gastroenterology, immunology, neurology, rheumatology, and other disciplines.  \n• Assess and educate assigned patients prior to therapy as well as during treatment.  \n• Assist with bone marrow biopsies, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and lumbar puncture procedures.  \n• Coordinate patient care activities with social workers and other support departments.  \n• Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA rules and regulations.  \n• Always keep a calm and professional demeanor.  \n• Serve as a clinical staff role model.  \n• Adhere to clinic standards, policies, and procedures.  \n• Identify cost saving opportunities.  \n• Attend and participate in bi-monthly nursing meetings.  \n• Participate in professional development, continuing education, and in-services.  \n• Maintain required licenses and certifications.  \n• Perform additional, related duties as assigned.  \nIII.
