It connects product recovery timeframes with business-critical services and helps identify at-risk products and risk sources, preventing unacceptable loss. The document then guides emergency response, crisis management, business recovery, and continuity risk assessment through worst-case scenarios, trackers, role assignments, and actionable staff checklists.","YOUR LOGO
BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLAN
Last updated XX/XX/XXXX by FirstName LastName
Template provided by Inoni on behalf of NFU Mutual
\u000f
***Rename a copy of this document CompanyName BCP. All blue text can be deleted from the copy ***
Introduction
This document is supplied by Inoni (\u0013 HYPERLINK "http://www.inoni.co.uk" \\h \u0014www.inoni.co.uk\u0015) on behalf of NFU Mutual to provide small businesses in the hospitality and leisure sector with an easy to complete Business Continuity Plan (BCP) template.
Please note that the template is not recommended for organisations with over 50 staff, those operating from multiple sites, or to meet specialised regulatory requirements. For these more advanced needs please contact your local NFU Mutual agent.
How to use the document
The following provides a baseline BCP suitable for a small hospitality or leisure business with example text that you can easily adapt or replace. To complete the template, simply work through the document in the order it is written, reviewing the supplied information, deleting, inserting, and editing, as necessary. Guidance is provided for each section indicated by
icons. Once you are comfortable with your supplied content, you can delete/replace the blue help text, although you may like to keep a copy of the original template for future reference.
Things to consider for your hospitality or leisure business
Because of your interaction with the public, challenges in the hospitality and leisure industry place specific emphasis on effective emergency response to save and protect lives. Failure in this area would lead to an ensuing crisis which could damage your reputation beyond recovery.
Premises and infrastructure are also key to what you do, and without access to buildings you probably have no product. Due to the nature of what you offer, your stakeholder tolerance is likely to be very low, as customers may be able to easily find alternatives to what you offer. In other cases your product may provide a particular event on a fixed date, meaning incidents at certain times jeopardise your delivery of this. In such cases, cancellation may be your only option, again requiring effective crisis management to prevent brand and reputation erosion, and ensure customers return to you after recovery.
All this means you need an effective emergency response, crisis management and business recovery plan that deals with each of the risks you face.
\u000f
Impact tolerance
The below table defines the levels and equivalence for the types of loss the organisation can sustain.
Product recovery timeframes
Our business-critical products and services are listed in this table. A critical product is any that is essential in satisfying a critical stakeholder requirement.
What does this mean for my plan?
Completing the tables above give you the understanding that you need to:
Identify coinciding periods of increasing and peak exposure
Identify at-risk products and risk sources that could lead to unacceptable loss
Identify preventive and defensive (resilience) measures to reduce the risks you identify
Identify scenarios you may want to explore or plan for
Provide a timeline for the strategies you devise to recover from each scenario
With this information, your plan will be focused on responding to the key risks and/or recovering in acceptable time.
\u000f
Continuity risk assessment
Based on the impact tolerance defined in the preceding sections, the following continuity risks have been identified.
Continuity scenarios
Assessment of the risks faced by the organisation has led us to propose the following 'worst case' scenarios as the basis for our Business Continuity Plan. It is intended that by demonstrably defending against these scenarios, we should be well-positioned to respond acceptably to any sub-worst-case disruptions that arise.
Activity tracker
All significant planned BCP activities are listed below.
Resilience improvements tracker
\u000f
Business Continuity Plan Structure
\u000f
Role Definitions and Assignees
Eme","cbCaiiZfErricACk","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiiZfErricACk","docx",162146,25,"English","en",105,"# Introduction
## How to use the document
# Things to consider for your hospitality or leisure business
# Impact tolerance
## Product recovery timeframes
# What does this mean for my plan?
# Continuity risk assessment
## Continuity scenarios
# Activity tracker
# Resilience improvements tracker
# Business Continuity Plan Structure
## Role Definitions and Assignees
## Emergency Response Flowchart
## Staff checklist
### Raising the Alarm
### Where to Go
### Who to Call
### Detection and Escalation","[{"question":"What is the purpose of impact tolerance in the business continuity plan?","answer":"Impact tolerance sets the levels and equivalence for the types of loss the organization can sustain, guiding how the plan is built around acceptable impact and recovery expectations."},{"question":"How should a small hospitality or leisure business use the template?","answer":"Work through the document in the written order, review supplied information, and delete, insert, and edit as needed, replacing blue help text when comfortable."},{"question":"What steps are recommended when an incident requires emergency services?","answer":"Dial 999, respond to questions, notify your line manager (or the next available manager), follow evacuation or on-site instructions, and keep contactability requirements when off-site."}]","Impact tolerance -
