My entire adult life was just ripped out from underneath me. I don’t even know what the last 7 years of my life really were. What parts were real, legitimate, intimate, and actually meaningful. I am left unsure of how I just spent such precious time with someone who was on a completely different plane of reality. What I thought was our family’s reality was never yours. You’ve always had other things or women or plans on your mind when I've only ever had you and our family on mine. Did you ever even truly love me? Do you even have the capacity to feel love? To be loved? To show me love? And do you even know what love truly is? We have a beautiful daughter together, who loves you unconditionally, and a baby boy on the way in just a matter of weeks. The concept of our past, in my mind, is non-existent and the future as we saw it, or I saw it rather, has completely disappeared. Yet I am numb. I can’t even get myself to shed a single tear right now. \nAnd that might be one of the most painful parts of this entire situation. You truly have stripped me of so many of my amazing qualities, made me question my intuition, and took advantage of my empathy and ability to care so deeply and trust so blindly and unconditionally. You took complete advantage of me for being a good person and for standing by your side time and time again as you continued to lie to me, emotionally and psychologically abuse and manipulate me, and physically cheat on me. \nI keep asking myself, why am I so numb? Is it because I’ve cried so much over the past 4 years that I’ve gotten it all out? Is it because the most important thing to me is protecting this baby and giving him the safest place to grow and I can’t allow myself to actually feel all of the pain you have caused me? (another thing you have robbed me of-what is supposed to be a magical time is hijacked by sadness, stress, and deceit) . Or is it because for the first time in 4 years I feel actually safe at this exact moment? You are somewhere where you can’t hurt me: manipulate me, lie to me, \ngaslight me, trick me, talk around me, confuse me, cheat on me. For the first time in 4 years I can actually just worry about myself and my kids and not worry about having to take care of you or having to protect myself from the hurt you’ve caused me or planto cause me. \nThe impact of the unmanageability phase of your addiction cycle was what I thought was the brunt of our marital issues. I never knew this was all tied back to a secret life that you knew you were keeping from me. You made me feel like I was so controlling and self-centered and unrealistic for asking for help for BASIC THINGS that you vowed to be as a husband, a friend, a homeowner, a teammate, and a parent. WELL KNOWING you were sleeping with other women behind my back, abusing porn, and lying to me daily, you allowed me to become a version of myself that I oftentimes hated. I have so many notes in my journal saying “I hate who I have become”,“Weare just so different”, and “How did this happen to us? To me?” I settled for a life that wasn’t what I thought it should be, but I thought it was good enough. And not bad enough to leave. You allowed me to believe that all marriages have their issues and that you were working SO HARD to support our family. You manipulated me into believing you had to work insane hours when really you were spending so many of those hours texting or doing someone else. I think back to one time specifically, our daughter ’s hardest night around 3 months. Ijust kept asking you to come home and help me take care of our newborn and help take care of me. \nYou convinced me that you had earned this “free time” at the casino because you had worked so hard that week. That night, I learned about your “second” infidelity. How could you neglect a person’s emotions and needs so blatantly? Especially the person who you vowed to love, protect, ","cbCainR7YLCNteGR","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCainR7YLCNteGR","pdf",113840,6,"English","# Impact Letter 1\n## Numbness, grief, and trust loss\n## Emotional and psychological manipulation\n## Infidelity and addiction cycle impacts","[{\"question\":\"What emotions and mental state does the writer describe in the letter?\",\"answer\":\"The writer describes feeling numb, unable to cry, and overwhelmed by confusion about what past years truly meant and what will come next.\"},{\"question\":\"What kinds of harm does the writer attribute to the partner’s actions?\",\"answer\":\"The letter alleges emotional and psychological abuse, manipulation, gaslighting, and ongoing lying, alongside physical cheating and porn addiction.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the writer explain their inability to fully process pain?\",\"answer\":\"The writer suggests that protecting the pregnancy and children—and the feeling of newly having safety—may be why they cannot yet feel the full pain.\"}]","Impact Letter 1 - Emotional Abuse and Infidelity Confession | PDF",1789522170]
