HYBRID WORKING \n1.1. Northampton Students' Union is committed to supporting a flexible approach in the way we work to meet staff’s individual needs and Northampton Students' Union’s organisational needs. Building on our Flexible Working policy, we recognise that the option to work remotely increases efficiency, engagement, and employee satisfaction. \n1.2. Whilst hybrid working is an option, Northampton Students' Union will accommodate staff working from wherever they feel comfortable, including their homes or campus. Northampton Students' Union will not allow staff to work from outside of the UK, unless they are representing Northampton Students' Union at a work-related event or under exceptional circumstances that are approved at HR Operations Committee. Managers will discuss individual needs, preferences, and circumstances with staff to find the best working arrangements that balance with the requirements of the role. \n1.3. This policy is open to continuous change to adapt to the needs of the business. We will continue to seek ways to improve our services and managers are expected to have regular catchups with their employees to ensure their ways of working are best for themselves and their role. \n1.4. Health and safety, and wellbeing within the workplace are of utmost importance. Alternative ways of working should give due consideration to our staff and their needs, to nurture good mental health, wellbeing and health and safety. \n2. SUITABILITY \n2.1. The Hybrid Working policy is applicable to current and future staff, who’s contracted‘normal place of working’ is ‘University of Northampton Campus’ and/or Northampton Students’Union Hub’. \n2.2. Certain roles or duties cannot be fulfilled remotely. Examples include, but are not limited to, roles where a face-to-face service is essential (e.g. Retail Assistant) or roles that include customer activity (e.g. catering assistant) . \n2.3. Roles are categorised as the following: \n2.3.1. Frontline roles (e.g., Uniexpress shop assistant) will not be able to request for hybrid working due to the nature of their work. \n2.3.2. Student Facing roles (e.g. , sports and societies) should work on campus at a ratio of 4:1 (80%) during term time. If the service allows, this could be flexed 3:2 (60%) during non-term time. -Office Based roles (e.g. , finance) should be on campus at a ratio of 3:2 (60%) . If the service allows, this could be flexed 2:3 during non-term time (40%) . \n2.4. Your role category can be found in your job description. You may appeal the category of your role to your line manager if you believe it has been wrongly recognised. \n2.5. Hybrid working allows working from home, an office hub/business park, library, or other appropriate space with suitable conditions, within the UK. \n2.6. This does not replace your right to request a formal flexible working arrangement. The Flexible Working policy can be found on the staff intranet, under HR policies and procedures. \n3. PRINCIPLES \n3.1. We accept that a hybrid approach to working and delivering on our commitments can be successfully achieved remotely. \n3.2. Employees should recognise that not all roles are available for remote working. \n3.3. Managers and staff will work together to compromise on suitable working arrangements. All arrangements must follow Northampton Students' Union’s policies and other legal obligations. Staff must adhere to all Northampton Students' Union’s policies in the same way as if they were working from their ‘normal’ place of work, e.g. , ","cbCaiqZLqh6x6WAl","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiqZLqh6x6WAl","pdf",180067,"English","# Hybrid working\n## Suitability\n## Principles\n## Expenses and equipment","[{\"question\":\"Who is eligible to work under the Hybrid Working policy?\",\"answer\":\"The policy applies to current and future staff whose contracted normal place of work is the University of Northampton Campus and/or the Northampton Students' Union Hub.
