Police Department – New Position – Crime Analyst  \nSgt. Casey Hatchett presented regarding the request for a new civilian position in the Police Dept. The Crime Analyst role requires analytical and technical ability. Brookline Police Department is currently understaffed and the officer who performed this role has resigned. It was previously recommended that this position be civilianized during a prior position analysis but was not implemented at that time. Now that there is a vacancy in the position, the department has taken the opportunity to develop the job description for a civilian role. The job has a lot more technical aspects that will be expected of a new hire and requires strong technical skills, data analysis, an understanding of policing, and experience using the Police records keeping system.  \nThe Crime Analyst is recommended at an MMTP grade T-04. Starting salary is $62,974.41 .
