This way, everything they need to make informed decisions is all in one place. \nIn this scenario: \n• Position 49091300 is being abolished. \n• Position 49091900 is being converted to a permanent virtual position. \nIn reality, RIF activities involve a larger number of positions and employees than in this scenario, but to keep things simple, we'll only focuses on two positions. \nThe steps and process to follow are the same for any number of positions or employees. \nEnabling RIF Scenarios \nFor your RIF data to appear in the front end, you first need to enable related fields from the AdminConsole. \n1. From the Main Menu of the AdminConsole, navigate to Scenario Management. The Scenario Management page opens in a new tab. \n2. Expand Scenario Settings. \n3. Under Scenario Settings, enable the RIF switch. \n4. From the bottom right of the page, click on the Save Changes button. \nDownloading the Excel Template \n5. Download the appropriate Excel Template from the Data Management page, according to your application’s organizational structure. It should contain the following tabs: \na. EmploymentReason \nb. EmpRIFAction \nc. RIFActionCategory \nd. PosRIFAction \nCompleting the Excel Template – Employment Reason Tab \nThe EmploymentReason tab is used to specify RIF activities impacting employees. In our scenario, we have two of these: \n• Position 49091300 is being abolished. \n• Position 49091900 is being converted to a permanent virtual position. \nThis means that we'll need to add two RIF activities on the EmploymentReason tab. \n6. Navigate to the EmploymentReason tab of the Excel template. \n7. Clear all demo data from the tab. Make sure not to delete any columns or headers. \nFirst, we'll plot in the required values for the RIF activity where our existing position is being abolished. \n8. Under EmploymentReasonId, enter “positionabolished”. This ID must be distinct from others on this tab, is case-sensitive, and will be used on other tabs to refer back to associated data on this one. \n9. In the same row, under ActionId, enter “reduction”. This informs the system that this is a RIF activity. \n10. In the same row, under Voluntary (Yes/No), enter a value “NO”, meaning that this RIF activity isnot on a voluntary basis. \n11. In the same row, under Text, enter “Position Abolished”. This will appear in the front-end. \nNext, we'll plot in the required values for the RIF activity where our existing position is being converted to permanent virtual position. \n12. Under EmploymentReasonId, enter “virtual”. \n13. In the same row, under ActionId, enter “reduction”. \nIn this case, let's say that the employee occupying this position has the option to decide whether or not they want to be working remotely. \n14. In the same row, under Voluntary (Yes/No), enter a value “YES”, meaning that this RIF activity is on a voluntary basis. \n15. In the same row, under Text, enter “Virtual”. \nIn reality, you might have more than two types of employee RIF activities. If that's the case, simply repeat the steps above to add each one. \nCompleting the Excel Template – EmpRIFAction Tab \nThe EmpRIFAction tab is used to map employees to RIF activities, associated costs, and other data. In our scenario, let's say that: \n• The employee occupying position 49091300 (abolished) has an employeeId of 70400. \n• The employee occupying position 49091900 (virtual) has an employeeId of 71500. \n16.
