We carry so many tasks around in our brains that we can end up getting stressed out about things that we attach an emotional power to, but when we put it down on paper, we realise that actually it was our fear of either getting things wrong or not being enough that magnified them out of \nproportion. \nTo begin with, make a list of everything that is playing on your mind that is an actually task. Not fears or worries but something you can actually do something about. Tasks, actions and things you have to do. Give yourself a clear amount of time to really let go. No judgements or prioritising yet, just releasing it onto your paper or computer. I recommend using paper because you can rub things out and physicalising things make them easier to retain and also to release. \nFor example: \n Fill in the self-employed tax form before the deadline in a week. \n Actually start the social media marketing campaign. \n Pick up vitamins. \n Call my friend to wish her a happy birthday. \nFeels good doesn't it? Even if there is so much you are carrying around, now you are taking an active role in your own rescue! \nNow that you have your list, draw a quadrant of 4 large squares (or get 4 sheets of paper to write on) and label the x axis going along the top of this quadrant with URGENT on one area and NOT URGENT on the other. \nOn the Y axis going down, label one area IMPORTANT and the other NOT IMPORTANT. \nNow sort each of your tasks into the relevant quadrant by matching how soon you need to get the task done, and either the consequences of not doing it/what it means to you. \nFor example: \n Fill in the self-employed tax form before the deadline in a weekURGENT, IMPORTANT \n Actually start the social media marketing campaign-NOT URGENT, IMPORTANT \n Call my friend to wish her a happy birthday-URGENT, NOT IMPORTANT \n Pick up vitamins-NOT URGENT, NOT IMPORTANT \nA L EX RA NA HA N | PA G E 3 \nTASK \nBUNCHING \nNow that we have our quadrant and know if things are urgent or important or both or none, it can be handy to bunch tasks together by the place they can be done or type of task. \nFor example, if I identify that I have a lot of phone calls to make then I can bunch all of the tasks that require me to \nuse my phone together. I block out a period of time to do all those tasks that require my phone and it then requires less energy or effort to get them done because I’m not constantly switching gears to re-establish the rules for each task and so requiring me to start again and lose my momentum. \nI can do this for tasks that require my computer, the internet, email, or location dependant such as being at home or at the office or even listing all the errands that can be accomplished whilst on a shopping run. This stops the tasks that you want to get done but aren’t important or urgent enough to require your precious time from slipping through and never getting done. \nAnother useful aspect of this system is to break down tasks into the next thing you have to do. The very next step to move forward with it. \nFor example, moving house may requ","cbCairSY5ClIRV1B","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCairSY5ClIRV1B","pdf",14446577,8,"English","# Contents\n## Eisenhower Matrix\n## Task Bunching\n## Identify Your One Thing\n## Simple Battle Plan\n## Link It to Habits","[{\"question\":\"What should you write down in the first “mind dump” step?\",\"answer\":\"List everything that is an actual task you can take action on, not fears or abstract worries.
