Heaton-Jones attended Board of Selectmen or Town Council meetings in Sherman, New Fairfield, Brookfield, Newtown, and New Milford to provide guidance and answer questions regarding the recently approved solid waste ordinance changes adopted by the Authority. These meetings helped ensure consistent implementation across municipalities and clarified roles, responsibilities, and timelines. \nHRRA staff submitted the final Sustainable Materials Management (SMM) Project Management Report to CT DEEP. The final reimbursement request was also completed, officially closing out the last of the four SMM grants awarded to the HRRA. \nThe towns of Bethel, Brookfield, and Redding celebrated the ribbon-cutting and rollout of their new organics smart bins.
