It clearly emphasizes that this self-test is not a substitute for a professional eye examination. The instructions detail the requirements for printer settings or monitor calibration to ensure the chart's accuracy, specifically noting the required height of the letter E. Procedures for test distance, eye coverage, and interpretation of vision levels are provided to assist users in evaluating their visual acuity.",{"@graph":14,"@context":66},[15,34,49],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/template/","Template",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/template/forms/","Forms",3,{"item":32,"name":10,"@type":21,"position":33},"https://docshare.wps.com/template/home-eye-test-vision-screening-guide/563834/",4,{"url":32,"name":10,"@type":35,"author":36,"headline":10,"publisher":39,"fileFormat":42,"inLanguage":8,"description":12,"dateModified":43,"datePublished":43,"encodingFormat":42,"isAccessibleForFree":44,"interactionStatistic":45},"DigitalDocument",{"name":37,"@type":38},"OmBimo","Person",{"url":19,"name":40,"@type":41},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-12",true,{"@type":46,"interactionType":47,"userInteractionCount":4},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":48},"ViewAction",{"@type":50,"mainEntity":51},"FAQPage",[52,58,62],{"name":53,"@type":54,"acceptedAnswer":55},"Is this home eye test a substitute for a professional eye exam?","Question",{"text":56,"@type":57},"No, this test is provided to check your vision and is not a substitute for a formal eye examination.","Answer",{"name":59,"@type":54,"acceptedAnswer":60},"How should the eye chart be calibrated for accuracy?",{"text":61,"@type":57},"If printing, ensure the printer is set to actual size and not 'Print to Fit'. It is not a substitute for an eye examination and doing well does NOT mean that you do not need an eye exam. \nSee when should I get my eyes examined. \nOpen the downloaded pdf file with Adobe Reader. You can either print the chart or use your computer monitor. \nPrint the eye chart on a letter sized paper 8 1/2” x 11”. You must have your printer settings set to print actual size, or uncheck the Print to Fit option. Check that the big E in the eye chart measures 45mm / \n1.75 inches in height. \nYou may also use your laptop screen, but you will need to carefully zoom in or out to adjust the letter size so that the big E measures 45mm / 1.75 inches in height. \nThe test is taken at a distance of 10 ft. with glasses on, if worn. Cover one eye with your palm or a piece of paper. Do not press on the eye. It may help to blink a few times occasionally during the test. Test the right eye first, then the left. The vision is the smallest line where more than 1/2 of the letters can be seen and is on the far right side of the chart. 20/20 vision is line 8, above the red line. \n[SafeEyesAmerica.org](SafeEyesAmerica.org) \n45mm / 1.75 inches \n| | | | | |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| | | | | |\n| L P E D | | | | |\n| P E C F D | | | | |\n| E D F C Z P | | | | |\n| F E L O P Z D | | | | |\n| C | | | | |\n| L E F O D P C T | | | | |\n| | | | | |","cbCaifKEJiNrhCym","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaifKEJiNrhCym","pdf",102204,"English","# Preparation Instructions\n## Printer and Monitor Calibration\n# Testing Procedures\n## Distance and Execution\n## Vision Evaluation","[{\"question\":\"Is this home eye test a substitute for a professional eye exam?\",\"answer\":\"No, this test is provided to check your vision and is not a substitute for a formal eye examination.\"},{\"question\":\"How should the eye chart be calibrated for accuracy?\",\"answer\":\"If printing, ensure the printer is set to actual size and not 'Print to Fit'.
