In an emergency event, emergency services may not be able to communicate with or reach your community for several days, therefore individuals and communities must be able to care for themselves and eachother as much as possible when the normal functions of daily life are disrupted. \nNTEM encourage you to create this plan together as a community. No one knows your community better than those of you who live and work in it. If you work on it collaboratively you will have ownership of it and likely have far greater ‘buy in’ than a plan created by others. \nPage 3 \nWhat is involved in creating a Community Emergency Preparedness Plan? \nCreating a Community Emergency Preparedness Plan involves bringing the community together for discussions and workshopson: \n¾ What your community looks like . \n¾ Identifying your local hazards and likely impacts. \n¾ The skills and re","cbCaieGnt9BrOC3I","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaieGnt9BrOC3I","pdf",522621,"English","# What is a Community Emergency Preparedness Plan?\n## Why create a Community Emergency Preparedness Plan?\n## What is involved in creating a Community Emergency Preparedness Plan?\n## Where does it fit with other resources?\n## The process for creating a Community Emergency Preparedness Plan\n## Getting started\n## Sharing the plan\n## Completing the Community Emergency Preparedness Plan template (Section A)\n## Additional information","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of a Community Emergency Preparedness Plan?\",\"answer\":\"It enables and supports individuals and communities to take ownership of their own emergency preparedness, understand local hazards, and build resilience through strong social networks and mutual help.\"},{\"question\":\"Why should a community create an Emergency Preparedness Plan in New Zealand?\",\"answer\":\"Emergency management is based on self-reliance, since services may not be able to reach or communicate with communities for several days during disruptions.\"},{\"question\":\"What are the main steps to start creating the plan?\",\"answer\":\"Register interest with NTEM, receive the template and supporting documents, familiarise yourself with them, hold a community meeting, and establish a Community Emergency Team.\"}]","Guide to Community Emergency Preparedness Planning - Emergency Preparedness Plan | PDF",1790124370,6]
