Demonstrates the company's core values of community, accountability, respect, and engagement.  \nEssential Duties  \nThe grocery clerk plays an important role in the ongoing functions of the grocery/dairy/frozen departments. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include:  \n● Reliability-Regular and predictable attendance  \n● Asks customers if they need assistance within any departments  \n● Assists with unloading delivery trucks as they arrive and stocking products either to the backroom or floor, depending on inventory  \n● Accurately and efficiently stocks products within the grocery/dairy/frozen departments  \n● Informs department manager when products are requested by customers  \n● Monitors products being stocked to ensure they meet or exceed customer expectations  \n● Maintains a thorough knowledge of products provided by the department  \n● Informs department manager when product is low or out of stock  \n● Stocks, straightens, cleans, and faces products on days without a shipment  \n● Checks for pricing and signing accuracy  \n● Ensures State and County safety and sanitation standards are met with all equipment, surfaces, and floors within the department and the proper methods are used when handling food  \n● Bags groceries, corrals shopping carts and helps the front end team when needed  \n● Helping with bottle machines, garbage maintenance, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, getting carts, and any other tasks that arise, directed by management  \nSkills and Abilities  \nBased on the essential duties and responsibilities of the position, the grocery/dairy/frozen clerk should have a number of skills and abilities:  \n● Sound organizational, time management skills, and attention to detail  \n● Good interpersonal and customer service skills, well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work both as an individual contributor and a team member  \n● The ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and meet assigned deadlines  \n● Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment  \nEducation, Experience, and Other Requirements  \nBased on the responsibilities of the position, the grocery/dairy/frozen clerk is required to have:  \n● Knowledge of proper lifting techniques  \n● Experience in a grocery, or retail setting preferred  \n● Knowledge of available grocery  \n● The ability to work at least two days, and one weekend day per week  \n● Reliably commute, or planning to relocate before beginning employment preferred  \n● The ability work at least 2 days during the week and one weekend shift  \nPhysical and Environmental  \nThe grocery/dairy/frozen clerk is located within a retail grocery environment and may experience both hot and cold temperatures throughout the working day.
