The target audience is business managers, IT managers, and enterprise architects. An overview of governance and the characteristics of its context are provided. The challenges for governance and its results are discussed, including what good governance looks like. The final result is a framework of components, which are used as a reference to address recommendations for architecture governance within TOGAF 9.  \nThis document contributes to The Open Group vision of Boundaryless Information Flow because it gives business and IT managers a proven framework of governance practices for the IT domain.
