An agency GMM should include procedures that adequately cover all Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) that pertain to your agency and its unique aviation operations. The GMM Guide was developed to reduce that time required to develop appropriate operational procedures in a standardized format.\nThe GMM Guide is intended for use as a sample in the development of an agency GMM. Each agency GMM should be developed within the FAR's that pertain to its specific aviation operation. In that regard, an agency operating a Gulfstream GII or Boeing B-727 would have a different GMM requirement than an agency operating a Cessna CE-182. Material included in portions of this guide may not directly relate to or be required by a referenced FAR; however, that material may be considered a necessary part of any GMM.\nA GMM must contain an agency's policies and procedures. A policy is a statement of intent. For example, if an agency requires a check to ensure the fuel in the tanker is the correct grade prior to fueling operations, this is a policy. The procedure outlines how the crewmember will obtain and test the fuel sample. The procedure should explain:\n1.\tWHO\nWho the procedure is speaking to.\nWho will accomplish the procedure.\nWho is responsible to see the procedure is accomplished.\nWho is the accountable individual (a position, a facility, agency etc.).\n2.\tWHAT\nWhat the procedure is about.\nWhat the procedure is trying to accomplish.\nWhat the person performing the procedure should do.\n3.\tWHEN\nWhen the procedure will be accomplished:\na.\tThe intervals (hours, cycles or calendar).\nb.\tThe specific date or time.\n4.\tWHERE\nWhere the procedure will be accomplished.\na.\tThe specific facility and location.\nb.\tThe specific type of facility.\n5.\tWHY\nWhy the procedure is required.\nWhy the procedure is to be accomplished.\n6.\tHOW\nHow the procedure will be accomplished.\na.\tIn accordance with:\n1.\tManufacturers recommended procedures.\n2.\tProcedures approved by the FAA.\n3.\tAgency approved procedures.\nEach agency's GMM should be developed to address all operations as they relate to maintenance operation standards. This guide provides a sample GMM as well as a standardized format to follow when developing the agency's maintenance operations standards. A close working relationship with the FAA Flight Standards District Office is necessary from the initial regulatory review, program development, and FAA/FSDO acceptance.\n1.\tABBREVIATIONS\nThe following abbreviations are to assist personnel when completing maintenance forms.\nA/W\tAirworthy\nA/P\tAutopilot\nA to D\tAnalog to Digital\nA/C\tAircraft\nA.T.\tAuto Throttle\nA&P\tAirframe and Powerplant\nAAS\tAircraft Alteration Station\nAC\tAlternating Current\nACC\tAccessory\nACCEL\tAccelerometer\nACCUM\tAccumulator\nACFT\tAircraft\nACM\tAir Cycle Machine\nACT\tActuator\nAD\tAirworthiness Directive\nADC\tAir Data Computer\nADF\tAuto Direction Finder\nADI\tAttitude Deviation Indicator\nADP\tAutomatic Data Process\nAFIS\tAutomatic Flight Inspection System\nAFL\tAircraft Flight Log\nAFM\tAirplane Flight Manual\nAFT\tAirworthiness Flight Test\nAGC\tAutomatic Gain Control\nAI\tAnti-Ice\nAIC\tAirborne Interphone Comm\nAIL\tAileron\nAIRCOND\tAir Conditioning\nALTER\tAlternate\nALTD\tAltitude\nALTM\tAltimeter\nALTN\tAlternator\nAMPMTR\tAmmeter\nAMB\tAmbient\nAMP\tAmplifier\nANG\tAngle\n\u000f\nANLG\tAnalog\nANSKD\tAnti-Skid\nANT\tAntenna\nAOA\tAngle of Attack\nAOG\tAircraft on Ground\nA/P\tAutopilot\nAPP\tApproach\nAPU\tAuxiliary Power Unit\nA/S\tAir Speed\nARR\tAeronautical Reliability Reports\nART\tArtificial\nASST\tAssist\nASSY\tAssembly\nASYM\tAsymmetry\nATC\tAir Traffic Control\nATM\tAir Turbine Motor\nATT\tAttitude\nAUG\tAugmentation\nAUTO\tAutomatic\nAUX\tAuxiliary\nAV\tAvionics\nAWI\tAlcohol Water Injection\nAWR\tAirworthiness Release\nBAL\tBalance or Ballast\nBATT\tBattery\nBC\tBench Check\nBCN\tBeacon\nBEW\tBasis Empty Weight\nBFS\tBad fro","cbCailS424YMYm5P","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCailS424YMYm5P","docx",986660,647,"English","# Preface\n## Developing an Agency GMM\n## Procedure Elements (WHO/WHAT/WHEN/WHERE/WHY/HOW)\n## Coordination with FAA/FSDO\n## Abbreviations","[{\"question\":\"What should an agency GMM include according to the guide?\",\"answer\":\"An agency GMM must contain the agency’s policies and procedures, developed to cover all relevant operations under applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.\"},{\"question\":\"How should a procedure be explained in an agency GMM?\",\"answer\":\"Each procedure should clarify WHO will accomplish and be responsible, WHAT the procedure covers, WHEN and how often it is performed, WHERE it occurs, WHY it is required, and HOW it is carried out.\"},{\"question\":\"Why is coordination with the FAA Flight Standards District Office necessary?\",\"answer\":\"A close working relationship is required from the initial regulatory review through program development and FAA/FSDO acceptance.\"}]","General Maintenance Manual - May 2025 | DOCX",1788330839,226]
