Making such a request is best done as part of a personal conversation where questions can be answered. Each individual who agrees should be given a copy of the instruction letter for Reference Writers and a blank response letter.  \nCompleted letters are confidential and they cannot be returned to you. Each Reference Writer must mail or deliver his/her completed letter in a sealed envelope to the adult leader responsible for advancement in your unit. It is strongly recommended that you provide each Reference Writer with a pre-­‐addressed stamped envelope that includes the writer’s name on the back for this purpose. Please note that the contents ofthe letter will NOT be shown to or discussed with the candidate, nor with anyone not a member of the Eagle Scout Board of Review.
