Abstract\u003Cbr>A significant amount of time and effort is invested to collect and document various field activity data of a highway project in Daily Work Report (DWR). Although there are many potential benefits of DWR data, the current use of the data is very limited. The objective of this study is to develop an ideal framework for an advanced DWR system to improve the DWR data collection and utilization practices. A literature review and two surveys were conducted to investigate the current practices of collecting DWR data, utilization of the data, and challenges associated with advanced collection and utilization of DWR data. The study found that there is a huge gap between the current and potential level of benefits of DWR data. The challenges for better collection and utilization of DWR data were identified and classified. An ideal framework for an advanced DWR system was developed to overcome those challenges. The ideal framework consists of seven major components: a) data attributes and its relations, b) integration with existing systems, c) visualization of data, d) advanced data collection systems, e) automation of DWR data analysis and reporting, f) human factors, and g) other technic","cbCaiusktQVNFRqc","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiusktQVNFRqc","pdf",3302775,152,"English","# List of Abbreviations\n# Acknowledgments\n# Disclaimer\n# Abstract\n# Executive Summary\n# 1 Introduction\n## 1.1 Background and Overview\n## 1.2 Problem Statement\n## 1.3 Research Objectives\n## 1.4 Expected Results and Contributions","[{\"question\":\"What problem does the report address about Daily Work Reports (DWR) data?\",\"answer\":\"The report addresses the limited current use of DWR data despite substantial effort invested in collecting and documenting field activity data for highway projects.\"},{\"question\":\"How was the framework for an advanced DWR system developed?\",\"answer\":\"It was developed using a literature review and two surveys to study current DWR data collection, utilization practices, and the challenges related to advanced collection and utilization.\"},{\"question\":\"What are the seven major components of the ideal advanced DWR framework?\",\"answer\":\"The framework includes: (a) data attributes and relations, (b) integration with existing systems, (c) visualization, (d) advanced data collection systems, (e) automation of DWR data analysis and reporting, (f) human factors, and (g) other technical aspects.\"}]","Framework for Advanced Daily Work Report System - Final Report - Research Sponsored by Mid-America Transportation Center | PDF",1789176897,53]
