Kids are out of school, days are longer, it’s getting hotter, and people are going on their summer vacations. I expect our byways will play a role in helping Florida residents and visitors get to their destinations. Now is a good time to consider dusting off those byway websites and brochures with some new information and maybe some new photos or videos of your byway! \nThere are ten WFSU Crossroads videos currently produced (you know who you are) and links to these episodes can be embedded in your website. We have new photos and videos in our photo library which are available for our byways to use in websites and brochures (ask your district coordinator for the link) . It’s also a good time to kick off some of those work plans! High schools and colleges aren’t in classes right now and make great volunteers! Many students have mandatory volunteer hours they must complete to graduate, and this is a perfect way for them to log those hours. \nAs always, my sincere thanks and appreciation goes out to our byway leaders and coordinators for their tireless efforts in making the Florida Scenic Highway Program the best it can be (and it’s pretty good)! \nDean Stoddart \nFSHP State Coordinator \nBYWAY DOINGS \nA1A All-American Road Day Proclaimed \nIn February, the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners presented a formal proclamation recognizing February 16, 2025 as A1A All-American Road Day. Friends of A1A Byway Program Administrator, Danielle Anderson and Treasurer and Past President, Robert Samuels were joined by Friends ofA1A Past President, Barbara Jenness and past Byway Program Administrator, \nSallie O’Hara for the special recognition. County Presentation. \nCelebrating the decades-long relationships with municipalities along theA1A Scenic Byway, the Friends ofA1A received similar proclamations from the City of St. Augustine Beach, Flagler County, the City of St. Augustine, the City of Flagler Beach, and the City of Palm Coast. \nThe proclamations recognized the Friends of A1Afor their outstanding commitment and tireless efforts \n[ 1 ] \nBYWAY DOINGS (CONTINUED) \nprotecting the scenic beauty of theA1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway, their ongoing promotion of the area’s natural resources \nthrough outdoor \nrecreation, preservation of the timeless history and culture of the communities located along their 72-mile byway, and their advocacy for enhanced motor vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian safety. \nFor questions on these proclamations please contact Dani Anderson ([danielle_anderson@scenica1a.org](danielle_anderson@scenica1a.org)) and for more on theA1A Scenic & HistoricAll-American Road please use \nthe following link: [Scenica1a.org](Scenica1a.org). \nOSL&T Newsletter Sets the Tone for Byway Information Sharing \nThe Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail (OSL&T) National Byway organization maintainsa very active work program. Partnering on projects with Volusia County, the City of Ormond Beach, other local advocacy organizations, as well as byway-specific sponsored projects, keeps the OSL&T leadership team and their volunteers quite busy. \nThe organization recognizes the importance of ensuring the byway community stays informed of these activities and other related issues. Through the dissemination of a monthly newsletter, Volunteer Editor Andrea Miller works hard to “get the word out” to byway followers in an email newsletter titled “In the Loop,” which provides the organization’s followers with updates on community accomplishments and upcoming events and activities in each edition. \nFor those that can’t attend the organization’s monthly meetings, the newsletter is a tool to help keep followers informed on what the byway organization is doing and where they’re headed. \nThe April edition of the newsletter had reports on the ","cbCaifbHPaw8J29D","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaifbHPaw8J29D","pdf",5248278,"English","# Dean’s Corner\n# Byway Doings\n## A1A All-American Road Day Proclaimed\n## OSL&T Newsletter Sets the Tone for Byway Information Sharing\n## Florida’s Storyteller - Bill Ryan","[{\"question\":\"What does Dean Stoddart suggest byway leaders do during summer 2025?\",\"answer\":\"He encourages leaders to refresh byway websites and brochures with new information and media, embed WFSU Crossroads video episodes, and kick off work plans using available volunteers.\"},{\"question\":\"What recognition was issued for A1A All-American Road Day?\",\"answer\":\"The St. Johns County Board proclaimed February 16, 2025 as A1A All-American Road Day, and similar proclamations were issued by several municipalities and counties along the A1A Scenic \\u0026 Historic Coastal Byway.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the Ormond Scenic Loop \\u0026 Trail keep people informed between meetings?\",\"answer\":\"Through a monthly email newsletter titled “In the Loop,” which shares accomplishments and upcoming events, including a link to its Instagram page in the April edition.\"}]","Florida Scenic Highways Program - Quarterly Newsletter - Summer 2025 | PDF",1789143272]
