Process maps show a series of events that produce an end result. A \nprocess map is also called a flowchart, process flowchart, process chart, or process flow diagram. It shows \nwho and what is involved in a process and can be used in any organization to reveal areas where a \nprocess should be improved (“What is Process Mapping”, 2017) . Process mapping can be used in Centers to examine the client’s journey from intake to provision of long-term services, to help to identify strengths, gaps in services, flow of collaboration , partners or services that need to be included, and to find strategies \nto improve service delivery. \nPurpose and Benefits of Process Mapping \nThe purpose of process mapping is to help Centers understand their client flow and potential \nimprovements. A process map can be used to identify gaps between what is actually happening and what \nhas been determined to be the ideal process. It is used to track potential improvements in a process by \nproviding visual representations of before and after the changes are implemented (Southern Institute on \nChildren & Families, 2009) . Process mapping should be used to build buy-in among partners, increase \ncollaboration and develop a shared decision-making process. Inherently, process mapping requires \ncollaboration and teamwork, and promotes a deeper understanding across functional areas in an \norganization (Southern Institute on Children & Families, 2009) . The communication that takes place among staff and partners, allows them to see how their roles intersect and should clearly define the tasks for which \nthey are responsible. Process mapping should identify bottlenecks, repetition, delays, help to define \nboundaries, ownership, responsibilities , and effectiveness measures (“What is Process Mapping”, 2017) . \nThis results in higher participation and motivation among staff and partners and helps improve ownership \nand team performance (Ideagen, 2013) . \nIt is important that representatives from all areas of the Center who are involved in a client intake and \nservice delivery be involved in the development of the process map (Southern Institute on Children & \nFamilies, 2009) . Additionally, this will build shared decision ma","cbCaigs7EtEoD8NI","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaigs7EtEoD8NI","pdf",1155742,"English","# Client Process Mapping\n## Purpose and Benefits of Process Mapping\n## How to Create a Process Map","[{\"question\":\"What is a client process map in a Family Justice and Multi-Agency Center?\",\"answer\":\"A process map is a visual planning and management tool that describes work flow and the series of events producing an end result.
