The text breaks the process into two distinct parts: addressing the specific factual event of the injury and processing the long-term impact on emotions, identity, and relationships. It outlines a practical three-step exercise involving index cards and reflection, designed to help individuals release bitterness, resentment, and fear. By choosing to forgive, participants are encouraged to entrust their hearts to spiritual guidance, ultimately aiming for personal transformation and growth. Forgive for the FACT of what happened \n2. Forgive for the IMPACT that the injury had –a longer process. \nRemember: Forgiveness is not reconciliation. \nForgiveness is not about the other person but about telling the truth to heal your heart. \nSteps to full forgiveness: \n1. Use 3x 5 cards to list each individual pain. Consider both the fact of the hurt and the impact of the hurt (painful emotions, identity issues, relationship strains, triggers etc.) \n2. Share your pains with a safe other. \n3. Take the red paper/felt and go through each index card and offer forgiveness. For the ones that are especially tough, you can repeat this line while placing the red fabric over it. \n“I am making the choice to honor God by forgiving this person for the fact that they’ve deeply hurt me, and whatever my feelings will not yet allow for, the blood of Jesus will surely cover it.” \n When we forgive, we are truly set free! -not burdened by bitterness, resentment, and fear but set up to be transformed by the work God wants to do in us. \n When we forgive, we put our whole selves in Jesus’ hands to experience his love and the growth he has for us. \nSee more in our blog on this topic,“How Forgiveness Changed My Life”By Audrey Hardin, MS LPC. \nResource: \"Forgiving What You Can't Forget: Discover How to Move On, Make Peace with Painful Memories, and Create a Life That’s Beautiful Again. \" By Lysa Terkeurst","cbCaieYHCrS2cHRZ","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaieYHCrS2cHRZ","pdf",34952,"English","# Understanding Forgiveness\n## The Two Parts of Forgiveness\n# Steps to Full Forgiveness\n## Practical Exercise\n# Spiritual Transformation and Growth","[{\"question\":\"What are the two parts of the forgiveness process?\",\"answer\":\"Forgiveness is split into forgiving the fact of what happened and forgiving the impact that the injury had on your life.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the author define the relationship between forgiveness and reconciliation?\",\"answer\":\"The document explicitly states that forgiveness is not reconciliation, but rather a process of telling the truth to heal your own heart.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the recommended method for conducting the forgiveness exercise?\",\"answer\":\"The method involves listing individual pains on index cards, sharing these pains with a safe person, and offering forgiveness by placing a red cloth over the cards while repeating a chosen statement of release.\"}]","Exercise in Forgiveness - A Guide to Emotional Healing | PDF",1790263466]
