Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with others.  \nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: This list is not all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.  \nEVENT COORDINATION AND STRATEGIC GIFTS  \n• Manages and executes all aspects of planning for assigned SHFB third party fundraising events.  \n• Ensures that all details for each event including logistics, volunteer recruitment and supervision, promotional material and overall deadlines are met for each event.  \n• Ensures that event raises dollars, food, visibility, and friends for SHFB.  \n• Serves as an effective liaison with community groups, businesses and others who hold thirdparty events to benefit SFHB by fielding inquiries, evaluating requests for partnership and/or use of logo.  \n• Assists Development Director in assessing ROI of third-party events.  \n• Tracks and maintains database of third-party food drives and fundraisers with contact information and coordinates the acknowledgement process with timely thank-you letters.  \n• Conducts educational talks and tours as well as writing talking points and remarks for selected company representatives.  \n• Responsible for all recruitment of new friends of SHFB (volunteers, partners, donors, etc.)  \n• Oversee the info@email account and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.  \nVOLUNTEER SERVICES-RECRUITMENT AND PRIMARY CONTACT FOR VOLUNTEERS  \n• Schedules and secures services of volunteer workers through various recruitment efforts.  \n• Conducts a Corporate Volunteer Program through which individual corporations recruit volunteers to work in teams.  \n• Works in cooperation with various departments and staff to ensure opportunities for volunteers.  \n• Ensures that potential volunteers meet Second Harvest Food Bank criteria stated in the Manual/Handbook.  \n• Updates and maintains the Volunteer Manual, ensuring compliance with all rules and regulations for volunteers’ participation.  \n• Acts as liaison between Second Harvest Food Bank and volunteers, mediating any problems or challenges that may arise.  \n• Develops volunteer orientation and training process. Ensures that the volunteer experience is enjoyable, positive, and satisfying. Educates volunteers on how their work is helping alleviate hunger.  \n• Helps to create solicitation materials for volunteer programs.  \n• Attends community events, campaigns, and fairs to communicate volunteer opportunities as needed.
