Its main use is to guide small and medium sized practitioners, within the bank’s borrowing member countries, through the basics of event management. We have included some common scenarios which are intended to show the process one would take in producing events. It is hoped that these scenarios can be adapted by the practitioners and used for other / larger events, should the need arise. The document also contains some useful templates which can assist the event practitioners in their planning and implementation. \nThroughout this document there will be references to “Event Planning Techniques & Procedures”, which is a more in-depth and comprehensive look at the events industry, its best practices and processes. This master document can be accessed from the CDB library for references purposes only. \nThe authors of this publication have been involved in the event planning industry for over ten years and therefore have a wealth of academic-through formal trainingand practical experience in the field. We trust that this guide will be helpful to you and ask that you note its content is not to dispense advice, but to assist with the planning and execution of personal projects. \nTable of Contents \nEvent Planning – An Overview.................................................................4 \nGetting Started – The Idea .............................................................................. 5 \nTips ......................................................................................................................................... 7 \nDeveloping the Idea ............................................................................................... 8 \nPlanning your Event .............................................................................................. 9 \nBudgeting ...................................................................................................................... 12 \nTips ....................................................................................................................................... 14 \nVenue Selection ........................................................................................................................ 14 \nVenue Layout ........................................................................................................... 15 \nGuest List Coordination .............................................................................. 16 \nInvitations .................................................................................................................... 16 \nTips for Invitations ........................................................................................ 17 \nHospitality ................................................................................................................... 19 \nAudio/Visual Needs; Photography ...............................................20 \nEvent Staffing & Briefing ........................................................................... 20 \nTransport Requirements .............................................................................. 22 \nMarketing your Event .................................................................................... 22 \nInsurance ....................................................................................................................... 23 \nTenders ............................................................................................................................. 23 \nContracts ........................................................................................................................ 24 \nTips – Event Plan Check","cbCaifrtTNuxqFnt","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaifrtTNuxqFnt","pdf",981665,32,"English","# Event Planning – An Overview\n## Getting Started – The Idea\n## Tips\n## Developing the Idea\n## Planning your Event\n## Budgeting\n## Venue Selection\n## Venue Layout\n## Guest List Coordination\n## Invitations\n## Hospitality\n## Audio/Visual Needs; Photography\n## Event Staffing & Briefing\n## Transport Requirements\n## Marketing your Event\n## Insurance\n## Tenders\n## Contracts\n## Tips – Event Plan Checklist\n## Event Delivery\n## Post Event Activities\n## Evaluating your Event","[{\"question\":\"What is an event, according to the guide?\",\"answer\":\"An event is any occurrence of significance with specific goals in mind.
