EIIP Lebanon is implemented with funding from Germany through KfW Development Bank, and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Labour the Ministry of Social Affairs and participating Municipalities.  \nThe EIIP Lebanon Phase V includes the rehabilitation of (i) municipal building in Broj El Barajne municipality and (ii) Pedestrian Network Project in Tripoli municipality. The ILO will now hire a consultancy firm to prepare preliminary & detailed designs and tender documents for these two projects. While the consultant is expected to submit a proposal for both projects, ILO may consider proposals submitted for one of the projects only if this is in the best interest of ILO.  \n1.1 Rehabilitation of Municipal Building in Borj El Barajne Municipality.  \nRehabilitation of the Municipal Building – The municipality building accommodates a health center accredited by the Ministry of Health. This health care center caters to a significant number of individuals (3000-4000 individuals/month and more than 85% are refugees) seeking medical assistance. Additionally, the building serves as a cultural center. The building's current state is deteriorated both internally and externally, thus the need for rehabilitation and upgrading including renovation of façade.  \nDetails of the major works include but are not limited to removal of debris, repair to concrete columns, slabs, walls, partition walls, roofing, floor tiling, provision of plastering and painting works, provision of doors and windows, provision of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and sanitary works etc. Complete details shall be prepared by the design consultant.  \n1.2 Pedestrian Network Project in Tripoli Municipality.  \nBuilding on a previous EIIP intervention, the municipality has proposed new sidewalks to enhance the pedestrian safety and traffic calming in a congested area. The current proposal involves construction of a new 3 km length sidewalks and up to 10,000 m2 of walkways rehabilitation.  \n2 Scope of the consultancy  \nThe ILO will hire a design consultancy firm for preliminary and detailed design of municipal infrastructure which include surveying/condition assessment, design and preparation of technical drawings, preparation of tender document includes technical specifications, BoQs and cost estimate.  \nThe consultant shall throughout the assignment coordinate closely with the municipalities and other concerned authorities, to obtain necessary licenses and agree the final scope of work, while keeping the ILO in the loop of all interactions. The consultant is to include the ILO in all correspondences and meetings concerning the assignment.
