The announcement will articulate whether it is a severe weather or hazardous waste emergency. \n“YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE. WE ARE EXPERIENCING AN EMERGENCY SITUATION AND NEED TO IMPLEMENT SHELTER-INPLACE PROCEDURES. STUDENTS AND STAFF ARE DIRECTED TO MOVE TO THE DESIGNATED SHELTER LOCATIONS AND SAFE \nAREAS. ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS OUTSIDE ARE TO IMMEDIATELY MOVE TO THE PROTECTION OF AN INSIDE ROOM.” \n􀁸 Move students into designated safe areas (indicated on classroom map) \n􀁸 Close classroom doors and windows \n􀁸 Have everyone kneel down and be ready to cover his or her heads to protect from debris. \n􀁸 If outside, teachers will direct students into the nearest school building interior safe area or other appropriate shelter. \na. For severe weather, if there is no time to get into a building or shelter, attempt to squat or lie low in the nearest (ravine or open ditch) or low spot away from trees and power poles. \nb. If movement into the building would expose persons to hazardous chemical plume, teachers should move to designated outdoor assembly areas upwind or crosswind from the spill. \n􀁸 All persons must remain in shelter until notified. \nEVACUATION \n(I.e. Fire, Explosion, Hazardous material spill inside, structural failure) \n􀁸 Teachers will instruct students to evacuate the building, using designated routes, and report to their assigned Assembly Area. Designate a student leader to help move your class to the assembly area \n􀁸 Close your door, turn off your lights. If the exit route is blocked, follow an alternate exit route. \n􀁸 Bring your class lists, phone lists, and classroom Go Kit materials \n􀁸 All staff will sweep the bathrooms, hallways and common areas for visitors, staff and students while exiting. \n􀁸 Take attendance, specially noting any students in other activities or services such as reading, speech, etc. that are missing. Red, or Green card along with CrisisGo app will be used for attendance. \n􀁸 Report any missing students or staff to the area coordinators \n􀁸 At the assembly area, teachers and students will stay in place until further instructions are given. \nREVERSE EVACUATION \n(i.e., severe weather, community emergency, gang activity, hazardous material release \noutside) \n􀁸 Immediately move back to classrooms or safe areas (if it is safe to do so) using the closest entry. \n􀁸 If movement into the building would present a danger to persons outside, teachers and staff outside will direct students to the designated assembly areas or off-campus assembly site. \n􀁸 Teachers will take attendance and account for all students. Report any missing students to administration \n􀁸 No students or staffs are allowed outside the building. \n􀁸 Close and lock all exterior doors and windows. Monitor the main entries until the “All Clear” verified signal is given. \nDROP, COVER, AND HOLD \n(if insufficient time for shelter-in-place protocol) \n1) If time is not sufficient to execute shelter-in-place protocols, follow the following: \n􀁸 All students and staff, who have moved to shelter or safe areas in the building in response to severe weather, should kneel down against the wall and cover their head with their arms and hands. \n􀁸 Outside teachers will instruct students to drop to the ground, place their heads between their knees and cover their head and eyes with their arms and hands. \n􀁸 Instruct everyone to move away from windows. \n􀁸 Teachers should account for their students and report any student missing to the administration. \n􀁸 In the event of an earthquake, an evacuation of the building will be ordered until facility is deemed safe to return by an outside engineer. \n􀁸 Teachers should account for their students and report any student missing to the administration. \nLOCKDOWN \n􀁸 Listen to announcement & follow direction. \n“YOUR ATTENTION","cbCaipkcmpkSh4q7","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaipkcmpkSh4q7","pdf",949498,"English","# Shelter-in-Place\n## Evacuation\n## Reverse Evacuation\n## Drop, Cover, and Hold\n## Lockdown\n## A.L.I.C.E.
