We are so excited to get going on what will be 8 fantastic weeks of fun and the beginning of your child’s journey in Cricket. Below you will find information about where the session takes place, what happens at Dynamos Sessions and how we deal with poor weather. If you have any other questions about the programme please don’t hesitate to call <INSERT CONTACT NAME AND CONTACT DETAILS> who leads the sessions on behalf of the club.
What to expect at a Dynamos Cricket session
We aim for our sessions to be fast paced, exciting and most of all FUN. The Dynamos programme is designed to be all about participants learning through playing, rather than having lots of in depth coaching, so as long they are safe and enjoying it then the cricket development will look after itself. Sessions will run for no longer than an hour and will normally consist of a fielding energiser (which is our warm up) followed by a batting or bowling activity, before finishing up with a game which will form the bulk of the session. Sessions will start at <INSERT TIME> but feel free to arrive up to 10- 15 minutes early to play and practice together.
Although our trained Activators will run the session we might require some support from other adults in certain elements of the activities. This might be as simple as helping return balls, supporting your own child in activity, scoring games or even playing grown ups V Dynamos games so please arrive ready to get involved. If you want to get more involved, and even train to run some of the activities please speak to <INSERT CONTACT NAME> who can set up with everything you need.
What to bring to sessions
· Your Dynamos Cricket Kit t-shirt—Dynamos may bring their own bats if them have them
· Plenty of drink, sun cream and a sun hat
· A rain coat for sessions taking place in light rain
· A blanket or camping chair for parents (maybe even a picnic)
· Loads of energy and ready to have FUN
What we do if there is Poor weather <NOTE: ADJUST THE BELOW TO FIT YOUR CLUB/CENTRE POLICY>
We will try to ensure that our Dynamos sessions all go ahead but sometimes the weather will intervene. If the weather is slightly rainy we will go ahead but please dress accordingly. We will make a call on each session 2-3 hours before start time and email parents if it is called off. We’ll reschedule sessions to the back end of the programme but if we have to do this more than twice we’ll look at doing additional sessions on a different day to make up the time. Either way we will always plan to run all 8 sessions of the programme.
Safeguarding and Welfare
We want Dynamos to be active and exciting but most of all safe. Obviously when taking part the odd bump may happen but we’ll always try to keep things safe and have first aiders at sessions.
Protecting the children in our care is also hugely important but we would ask that you remain at sessions and aid us in ensuring that your child is well looked after. Should you have any concerns about the safety of our sessions you can contact our Club Safeguarding Officer, who is trained to deal with issues relating to this area.
