your workflows, in a sense, you are providing training material for another person to do the job. Here are some tips to get started: \n􀁸 Less is more: Simplify the process to the simplest approach and least number of steps possible. Simplify the presentation of the information so that the document contains only what is required and is presented as clearly as possible. Avoid irrelevant information, such as the history of a process, unless it contributes to the motivation of the learner (e.g. demonstrates why the process is important, negative consequences of not following it properly, etc.) \n􀁸 Think like a novice: If you are experienced in this process, try to think like you are new to it or ask someone less familiar with the process to test your documents. As an expert, you may skip steps or combine multiple steps in ways that a novice may find confusing. \n􀁸 Provide the big picture: Help the learner develop an overall concept of the process that they can fit the tasks or steps into. You may or may not be there when they are learning the process. Oneway to do this is with a process map. Below is a simple example of a process map for the workflow documentation process. \n􀁸 Include Background information: You will often be describing procedures, but it may be helpful to include some supporting information at the beginning or end of your documentation . Some examples might include: \no Key roles/personnel \no Acronym definitions \no Computer system definitions \no Frequently asked questions \n􀁸 Organize the Files: Set up a common folder for all the files related to a project. Consider adding subfolders for each asset type: \no Audio \no Documents \no Images \no Video \n􀁸 Use the template: Using the documentation template described in this documen","cbCaicruQkmQ0Inh","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaicruQkmQ0Inh","pdf",1599248,23,"English","# Introduction\n## Process Overview\n## Task Analysis\n## Setting up Programs and Files\n## Setting up SnagIt\n## Setting up the Ribbon in Microsoft Word\n## Setting up the Template in Microsoft Word\n## Getting Started with Documentation\n## Using the MS Word Documentation Template\n## Capturing Screens with SnagIt\n## Using the SnagIt Editor\n## Recording the Screen Using Camtasia\n## Editing a Camtasia Screen Recording\n## Using the Wiki Internal Documentation\n## Resources","[{\"question\":\"Why is workflow documentation compared to training material?\",\"answer\":\"Documenting workflows provides step-by-step guidance that another person can follow to perform the job, functioning as practical training content.\"},{\"question\":\"How should a workflow be structured to make it easier to learn?\",\"answer\":\"Simplify to the minimum required steps, organize information clearly, and include a “big picture” concept—such as a process map—to help learners fit tasks into an overall understanding.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of using a template when documenting workflows?\",\"answer\":\"Using the documentation template reduces the time and effort required to document the workflow and helps keep documentation consistent.\"}]","Documenting Workflows - How to Document Workflows | PDF",1789154703,8]
