If so, what are these barriers and how can they be overcome? \nIn what ways do you think your organising model is limited or needs to be strengthened? \nIf your organising model has gone through a number of iterations, what strengths and weaknesses have been apparent? \nGuiding Frameworks \nWhich examples, frameworks, traditions or training programs inform or inspire your model, if any? \nIs your organising program: \n● Power before Purpose ie Building a base through which issues are identified \n● Purpose before Power ie Building a base around an issue \nFor example, IAF organising (used by the Sydney Alliance and Queensland Community Alliance in Australia) starts by building an alliance of organisations. Representatives from those organisation are trained in organising skills including relational meetings. They undertake listening campaigns across the alliance to identify the issues of concern to members. Then they go through a process of discernment to pick the issues the alliance will campaign on. By contrast, organisations in the climate and environment movements mostly start with an issue (or broad area of concern eg climate change or nature conservation) and then bring people into campaigning on that issue. \nSee Definitions of Organising Models for an overview of different approaches. \nPower \nWhat kinds of power are you building? \nWhat kinds of power are you exercising? \nThe Midwest Academy defines the following kinds of power: \n● Political/Legislative Power: Getting something passed by an elected body \n● Consumer Power: The ability to conduct a boycott \n● Legal/Regulatory Power: The ability to win in court or in a regulatory process \n● Strike/Disruptive Power: The ability to stop a company or agency from functioning You could also consider: \n● Narrative Power: the ability to change the parameters of public debate \n● Other? \nTemplate: [Developing/Reviewing an Organising Program commonslibrary.org](Developing/Reviewing an Organising Program commonslibrary.org 2)[ 2](Developing/Reviewing an Organising Program commonslibrary.org 2) \nYour Constituency \nWhat units will you organise? \n● Individuals \n● Groups of people \n● Organisations \n● Networks \nWhat constituency will you seek to or","cbCaisRUKxgBnhan","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaisRUKxgBnhan","pdf",329397,"English","# Purpose of your organising program\n## How change happens\n## Power before and purpose before\n# Reviewing your organising program\n## Reflection on the model\n## Barriers and limitations\n# Guiding Frameworks\n## Informing examples and trainings\n# Power\n## Types of power\n## Narrative and other power\n# Your Constituency\n## Units and constituency types\n# Structure\n## Group types and formal roles","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of this organising program template?\",\"answer\":\"It helps users develop and review an organising program by mapping purpose, power, guiding frameworks, constituency choices, structure, and evaluation areas.\"},{\"question\":\"How should an organisation review whether its organising model works?\",\"answer\":\"By reflecting on what works well, identifying barriers to building and implementing the model, and assessing limitations that need strengthening across iterations.\"},{\"question\":\"What types of power are included in the template?\",\"answer\":\"The template outlines political/legislative power, consumer power, legal/regulatory power, and strike/disruptive power, with room to consider narrative power and other forms.\"}]","Developing/Reviewing an Organising Program - Organising program template | PDF",1789200509]
