Technology Committee \nThe Technology Committee is charged with the development and prioritization of short-and long-term technology goals for the College to promote the effective use of information technology in the instructional and administrative activities of the College and to identify and recommend new and emerging IT-based services necessary to the fulfillment of the College’s mission. In order to achieve this purpose, the Committee provides advice and recommendations to the Board and College Administration concerning IT strategic directions, operating policies, and student, faculty and staff IT needs. \n1. Welcome/Opening Remarks \nMr. Hagerty called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. \nMr. Hagerty welcomed Col. Joseph Cooke and Dr. Michael Redmond as new board members. Minutes from October 14, 2020, meeting were approved as written. \nDr. Brainard reviewed the College’s highlights from 2020-2025 to explain why the Technology \nCommittee paused and the College’s intentions for 2026: \n• The Wilmington, Stanton, and Terry campuses had major renovations for which the College shifted focus. \n• In terms of capital projects, 2026 will be a year of design for a number of large projects, two being at the Stanton and Terry campuses, which is allowing for capacity again. \n• Thus, moving forward, the committee intends to increase the frequency of the Board Technology meetings. \n2. The committee evaluates the sustainability of new technology versus old technology, cost assessment, and the impact of the proposed technology on the College’s stakeholders with an emphasis on thoroughly vetting initiatives before they are enacted. A business case process was established to assist in this effort. \n• The strategic assessment identified 21 objectives for further action. These 21 objectives were narrowed down to 9 actionable items. Mr. Rainer provided a quick update on the status of those 9 objectives. \n1. Cybersecurity Efforts/Contingency \n• Codifying IT security policy and associated guidelines \n• Establishing managed services for our firewalls \n• Internal vulnerability scans \n• Phishing awareness training \n• Establishing a Cyber Security Team \n2.
