\nWhat is the defect between Error, Bug, Defect, Failure? \n1. Mistakes done in the code, because of this we will not be able to compile the code or run the code is called error. \n2. Error found in the software or application is called a defect. \n3. Bug is an informal name given to defect. OR defect accepted by the developer is called Bug. \n4. Many bugs/ defects present in the software leads to failure. Failure is a word used by end users. \nWhat is severity? \nImpact of defect on the customer business workflow \n1. Blocker /shows topper \n2. Critical \n3. Major \n4. Minor \nBlocker \nAssume that there is a defect in the application and because of this defect, TE will not be able to continue the testing for the respective module and TE will be completely blocked in testing that module. These kinds of defects are called blocker defects. \n1) gmail. \n[www.gmail.com](www.gmail.com) \nCritical \nAssume that there is a defect in the application and we are 100% sure that this defect will affect the customer business workflow, but here TE will not be blocked, we can still continue the testing, these kinds of defects are called critical defects. \nBook my show \nMajor \nAssume that there is a defect in the application and we really don’t know how this defect is going to impact the customer business workflow. These kind of defects are called major defects \nContinuation of test plan \nMinor \nAssume that there is a defect in the application and you're 100% sure that this defect will never affect the customer business . these kind of defects are called minor defects, \nLike spelling mistakes, alignment problems, object overlapping, all the cosmetic defects/ usability defects. \nIdentify blocker, critical, major, minor defects(4) for ATM machines. \nBlocker- Take ATM card, insert to ATM machine, enter correct pin, not able to access the machine. \nCritical-Take an ATM card, insert it into the ATM machine, enter the wrong pin, and you're able to access the machine. \nMajor- user is not able to get the receipt in the ATM machine. \nMinor- In the ATM machine receipt is generated but there is a spelling mistake in the receipt. \n★ Priority \nImportance given to fixing the defect is called priority / How. Soon the defect needs to be fixed by the developer. There are three types of priority. \n1. p1/ high: If the defect is having priority as p1, then dev should dev should immediately fix the defect . \n2. p2:/ medium: If the defect is having priority as p2/ medium, the dev can fix the defect with a few test cycles or within the release . \n3. p3/ low: If the defect is having priority as p3, then dev can fix the defect in the next upcoming release. \nDefect 1 \n1.
