Carl previously worked at several Fortune 500 companies whilst battling chronic migraine. His condition gradually worsened until he could experience 6 separate attacks per week. \nAfter 25 years of failed treatments, therapies and thousands of dollars, Carl decided to replace his medical team and get the facts. He also began to share his experience with others as his condition progressed. \nMigrainePal is a now community of thousand’s of others who are going through a similar journey. Today, Carl’s migraine frequency is down from 6 a week to 1 every few months. \nThe mission is to reduce the global burden of migraine through better information, advocacy and support. To find out more visit [www.migrainepal.com/about](www.migrainepal.com/about) \nDaith Piercing Results \nThe results are in from an anonymous survey of 1,107 respondents who hada daith piercing for migraine. They were asked 3 simple questions: \n1. How long have you had a daith ear piercing for? \n2. How has your daith piercing affected your migraine frequency? \n3. How has your daith piercing affected your migraine severity? \nI've included plenty of charts and data below for nerds like me. But if you just want the quick answer about whether daith piercing will actually help your migraine condition here are the topline results: \nI've included several charts and results below for those who want to see the raw data. If you just want the quick answer about whether daith piercing will actually help your migraine condition these are the topline results: \nHow did the daith piercing affect migraine frequency? \nJust over half of all those who had a daith piercing (64%) experienced a reduction in migraine frequency. The remainder stayed the same or got worse. Below is the breakdown of those who reduced their attacks: \n• 15% reduced their attacks by approximately 10-50% . \n• 7% of people reduced their attacks by half. \n• 24% reduced their attacks by more than half. \n• 18% of people experienced a full remission [in migraine. i.e. it](in migraine. i.e. it)[ ](in migraine. i.e. it)eliminated their migraine attacks. \nThe most common response was a reduction by over half in migraine frequency. This group represented 24% of all respondents. \nSome people also worsened. \n© 2018 MigrainePal. All rights reserved. 3 \n[www. migrainepal.com](www. migrainepal.com) \n5% of people experienced an increase in migraine frequency since their daith piercing. \nWhether this is due to the piercing itself, other factors or a combination was not explored in this survey. See the limitations section below. \nHow did your daith piercing affect migraine severity? \n66% of the respondents reported less severe attacks (rounded to the nearest percent) . \n• 21% reported 'somewhat' of reduction in their migraine severity. \n• 31% found their migraine severity had 'reduced greatly' . \n• 14% say they no longer experience migraine attacks at all. \n• Interestingly 29% of people stayed the same with no change. \n5% of people found that the pain and disability from migraine attacks had increased. \nWARNING: Before you leave with the summary... be warned, these results can be misleading! A big factor in the results is how long it had been since a respondent had their daith piercing. \nHow Long Have You Had The Piercing For? \nBelow is the how long each respondent had their piercing for: \n© 2018 MigrainePal. All rights reserved. 4 \n[www. migrainepal.com](www. migrainepal.com) \nThe group which had only had the piercing for less than a month had a high number of people who had completely eliminated their attacks at 25% . \nGoing a month without migraine is a fantastic result for many people. But it's not the same as going without migraine for an entire year. This is what happened as time goes by: \n• 21% had no further migraine attacks within 1-2 months \n• 17% had no fur","cbCaidG00mmEhQbH","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidG00mmEhQbH","pdf",1125680,10,"English","# Daith Piercing Results\n## Overview of MigrainePal\n## Topline survey results\n## Impact on migraine frequency\n## Impact on migraine severity\n## Time since piercing and outcomes\n## Results after 3-6 months\n## Results after 6-12 months\n## Limitations and caution","[{\"question\":\"How many respondents were included in the daith piercing survey, and how were they recruited?\",\"answer\":\"The results are based on an anonymous survey of 1,107 respondents who reported getting a daith ear piercing for migraine.\"},{\"question\":\"Does daith piercing improve migraine frequency and how large is the reported effect?\",\"answer\":\"Just over half of respondents (64%) reported reduced migraine frequency, while the rest stayed the same or worsened.
