The tax credit applies to the installed costs of any qualifying equipment, which includes labor. You may only claim $300 in total for any energy-efficient improvements and can choose to use the entire credit toward the installation of one appliance. \nThis credit will reduce the amount of income tax you owe. Unlike a deduction, which reduces the amount of income subject to tax, a tax credit directly reduces the tax itself. \nLifetime limitation – The Tax Relief Act of 2010 reinstates the lifetime tax credit limits, which disqualify any homeowner who has claimed more than $500 in 25c tax credits for all prior taxable years ending after December 31, 2005, from any further credits. \nNote: As every taxpayer’s situation is different, your contractor can help you figure out the actual tax credit. \nHow to claim your credit? \nWhen claiming the tax credit, you should review the final rules and forms developed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to clarify which products and services qualify for the tax credits. For more information on obtaining the tax credit, click here, or visit the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) [at www.AHRINET.org](at www.AHRINET.org) and click on “Homeowners”. \nAdditional information you should know: \n􀁸 The equipment must be “placed in service” between January 1st, 2011, and December 31, 20101. \n􀁸 The equipment must be installed in your principal residence. \n􀁸 The equipment must have a Manufacturer Certification Statement to qualify. \n􀁸 For record keeping, save your receipts and the Manufacturer Certification Statement. \n􀁸 You should use IRS Tax Form 5695 (2009 version) . \nDownload the following documents: \nIRS Tax Form 5695 (not yet available for the 2011 tax year) \nManufacturer Certification Statement (to include with your tax form) \nDAIKIN Qualifying units 2011 \n\n| Quaternity™ Single-Room System | | | | | | |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| Outdoor unit | | Indoor unit | SEER | EER | HSPF | |\n| RXG09HVJU | | FTXG09HVJU | 26.1 | 15.8 | 11.0 | |\n| RXG12HVJU | | FTXG12HVJU | 24.2 | 14.0 | 10.55 | |\n| RXG15HVJU | | FTXG15HVJU | 21.0 | 12.9 | 10.0 | |\n| Single-Room Split System | | | | | | |\n| RXS09JEVJU | | FTXS09JEVJU | 18.0 | 12.5 | | 10.0 |\n| RXS12JEVJU | | FTXS12JEVJU | 18.0 | 12.5 | | 10.0 |\n| Two-Room Split System | | | | | | |\n| 2MXS18GVJU | Non-Ducted Indoor Units | | 19.5 | 12.6 | | 9.2 |\n| Three-Room Split System | | | | | | |\n| 3MXS24JVJU | Non-Ducted Indoor Units | | 16.6 | 12.5 | | 9.0 |\n| Whole-House Inverter Ducted System | | | | | | |\n| RZQ18PVJU9 | FTQ18PAVJU | | 18.15 | 13.9 | | 8.92 |\n| RZQ24PVJU9 | FTQ24PAVJU | | 18.0 | 12.5 | | 8.89 |\n\nAdditional incentives: \nSome Daikin products may qualify for Energy Star.
